Traveler ReviewsBeautiful garden, great food,

I was a little unsure about dining at Bo-Zin as I'd hear it had a reputation for being an international jet-set party people kind of place (which is not my scene!), but our riad said it was gorgeous, so I thought we might as well give it a try.
The place itself is certainly beautiful - a lovely restaurant which opens onto a gorgeous garden filled with bamboos, candles and low sofas. The food is great - we had sushi, followed by oriental lamb and thai beef, all of which was delicious. The service was excellent as usual (all Marrakech restaurants have great service, our UK restaurants could learn a thing or two from them) and my husband and I were just thinking to ourselves "what are people talking about, this is a great restaurant" when the clock hit 22:30 and all of a sudden the place just filled up with young girls in tiny little skirts and massive hair, and older guys in white shirts, tight white jeans and large gold medallions.
The service basically slowed down to zero while the staff cooed over all the new arrivals - we were left with our dessert menus and ignored for over 20 minutes (in a UK resturant this would be standard - in Marrakech this is unheard of) while the people on either side of us, behind us, in front of us etc were served. Basically they don't have enough staff to cope with the massive influx of people who arrive later in the evening.
So eventually we gave up hoping that someone would take our dessert order and headed out to the bar in the garden to have a couple of cocktails instead. It took a while to fight our way through the beautiful people (cough cough) draped over the bar, but we managed to get a couple of drinks. After a few minutes, a waitress chased after us and basically threw the bill at us (funny how the service suddenly picked up) and demanded payment on the spot for the meal. Hilarious. The bill did not include our extra drinks, so we were then chased down by someone from the bar who demanded payment for the cocktails (do they not have the concept of a running tab?)
Having said that, I would still reccomend Bo-Zin because up until the point where the party people arrived (and the DJ playlist changed to Britney Spears and Robbie Williams, giggle), we had a really nice evening. The garden is just glorious and there's a chill-out area to the right of the bar with beautiful romantic candles which was mysteriously un-used (perhaps because it's out of sight of the main area and therefore reduces opportunities for seeing and being seen?) where we spent a very pleasant time relaxing with a few drinks before the meal. We also found the clientele (and the staff) absolutely hilarious, with great entertainment value. So my advice would be - by all means, go to Bo-Zin, just avoid Friday/Saturday night, and book a table for earlier in the evening eg 19:30 so you can avoid the international jet set types (unless of course this is your scene!)
Overpriced and full of itself and its overprivileged patrons

We ate here at the suggestion of our guide and tour company in late June.
It is located in a new part of town. The space itself is beautiful in a very contemporary way that would not be out of place on the west side of Los Angeles. The garden and veranda were nice--inside would be ok in cooler weather.
We thought that the entire premise of the restaurant is to charge very high prices to appeal to local and perhaps foreign gliiteratti who frequent it and keep out the rest. The place (out of season, admitedly) was filled with upper class Moroccans in their 20s spending daddy's money (and daddy is a prince or some other member of the aristocracy) If you are into that scene or want to check it out, and like Ferraris parked out front, by all means go. But otherwise, you are looking at $24US per entree for just "ok" thai food (the alternative on the menu to Moroccan cuisine) and $40 for wine that is $20 in every other restaurant in Marrakech, and probably $75 -$85 per person, at 7 dirhams/$.
As previously noted in other reviews, the staff has a LOT of attitude--really almost a joke, and quite amusing. But that is the whole premise of the place.

Just back from a week in Marrakech and Bo Zin was the least favourite of the restaurants that we visited. The food was OK, neither outstanding nor awful but the thing that spoiled the evening for us was the attitude of the staff. We went on our last night in the city and regret that this place was our last meal out.
The actual waiters/waitresses were fine but there's clearly a hierarchy of staff and those higher up and more front of house seemed more interested in themselves and being seen. Once we'd paid, it felt as if we'd become invisible.
I wouldn't recommend Bo Zin. At best, I'd say the place is massive, getting grubby and the service is impersonal.
Fabulous!

We went to Bo Zin on a reccomendation and were very impressed. After the hustle and bustle of the Medina, Bo Zin is a welcome and luxurious dining treat and a must for anyone visiting Marrakech. A little out of town (no more than 150d in a grand taxi) its well worth a visit. The ambience and service are first rate...a little expensive in comparrison to other restaurants but for 3 courses and two bottles of wine we paid around L100. Would absolutely recommend dining al fresco here - you can pre book a table via the web site and best time is probably around 9pm.
Food is a mixture of Morrocan and Thai but even the most cautious diner would find something to their taste (kebabs and steaks, albeit sophisticated versions, available!!)

Bo& zin is located about 10-15 mins taxi journey going out of town.. asian fusion food and very glamourous feel to it.. food is excellent and atmosphere is great- ideal for one of those special night out..they play cool chill out music with a dj .. outside area is simply gorgeous where you can hang out after dinner on large sofas listening to the music and trying out the cocktails.... price wise expect to pay around L35-40/head for 3 courses.. service is really good and the whole place has a real buzz about it...was def. our favourite dining experience of the holiday!
