There's not a huge variety of nightlife , but several jolly izakaya cater mainly for a younger crowd. The mauve cylindrical building at the start of the Omotecho-shotengai is the Okayama Symphony Hall ; check with tourist information as to what concerts are on. Towards the southern end of the arcade are several cinemas showing mainstream films, while more arty movies get an airing at Cinema Claire near the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art; for schedules pick up a copy of Okayama Insider , a free monthly English newsletter available from the tourist information centres.
