The passenger ferry that runs across the Mekong between Savannakhet and Mukdahan in Thailand (B40) docks at the Immigration Office in Sawan's town centre. The ferry departs roughly every thirty minutes on weekdays, less frequently at weekends. Near the ferry landing, an exchange kiosk changes cash only. Frequent buses leave here for That Phanom and Ubon Ratchathani.
