Harbourside Mall tel 599/717-5195. One of the few places on the island open for breakfast, serving bacon and eggs as well as some fruit plates. For lunch and dinner they offer a variety of tasty pizzas and grill items starting at NAf20. The outdoor covered terrace has harbour views. Mon-Sat 8am-midnight, Sun 8am-10pm.
De Tuin Eetcafé
Kaya L.D. Gerharts 9 tel 599/717-2999. A small, lively Dutch-owned café in the centre of town serving excellent meals starting at NAf25. Lunch and dinner usually include a good selection of seafood and curry dishes, as well as burgers and steaks. Internet access is also available (US$4/30min). Mon-Fri 11am-midnight, Sat & Sun 2pm-midnight.
Karel's Beach Bar
On a small pier across from Harbourside Mall. A favourite watering hole for locals and tourists alike, with good views of the busy harbour. Happy hour 5.30-8pm. Local bands play on weekends.
Mona Lisa Bar and Restaurant
Kaya Grandi 15 tel 599/717-8718. Located on the main street in town, this cosy Dutch-owned establishment serves scrumptious seafood and smoked chicken dishes. Expect to pay NAf35 for the catch of the day. Mon-Fri: restaurant 6-10pm, bar 4pm-2am.
