a lovely setting but overpriced

there were 8 people in our party and we were looking forward to a nice meal away from our all inclusive hotel. The setting is beautiful and the interior of the restaurant is in keeping with the carribean theme. However the beef wellingtons which were one of the most expensive items on the menu were overcooked and tasteless. The service was poor and we had to pour our own wine. The children ordered an ice cream cake which had so much colourant in it that it looked radioactive! Later that evening both children felt unwell. All in all probably a nice place to go for a meal for 2 but they struggled with a large group even though the restaurant was half empty.

The best restaurant in Grenada

The best restaurant in Grenada. Delicious food, both day and night, great atmosphere, friendly staff and a true Grenadian experience! A must visit restaurant, also the beach just out the front, Magazine beach, the most beautiful, peaceful beach in Grenada in my opinion!

A great bar & restaurant with a million-dollar view

We wanted to try and catch a little snorkeling/beaching/swimming/goofing off before dinner, so Wendy and I taxied out to the Aquarium around 3PM. Snaking our way around the cooking gas truck, we were in the water in moments. Other than a pair of English ladies on the beach and some punch drinkers holding down the bar, we had the place to ourselves. Poached to perfection, we changed into dinner clothes and staked out a table out on the beach. Draft Caribs appeared in gleaming pint glasses. We were clean, dry, refreshed, and hungry as the time of our reservation drew nigh. The Callaloo Spanakopita are described as "filo triangles filled with callaloo & mozzarella, served with fresh basil pesto." The pesto was explosive: a broad and mighty note liberally underlain with tangy callaloo and a melty mozzarella. This was lovely, and was gone in no time. Wendy heartily seconded my acclaim of the pesto. I enjoyed the Gold Corn Crust Fish (on swordfish), but didn't feel the crust (a delicious application in its' own right) had a lot to do with the fish either in terms of consistency or flavor, as if cooked in an insufficiently hot skillet. The cut of fish was unexceptional, but pleasing in consistency and flavor. An odd occasion when the component parts of a dish outshine their sum to a meal-saving degree. I should add that I think this presentation would be a real winner if prepared with a little more care. Vegetarians will find accommodation in the menu at the Aquarium, with a variety of soups, appetizers, and entrees showcasing Grenada's fresh local produce and namesake spices. Pasta forms the basis of two of three vegetarian entrees (Herb Pasta Linguini & 3 Cheese Tortellini), the third being a combination plate of callaloo cannelloni (also on the menu as an appetizer), sauteed vegetables & a garden salad. Prices for vegetarian dishes range from EC$42-7, significantly lower than meat and fish entrees. There is also a kids' menu consisting of frozen fried food, buttered pasta, or a small tenderloin steak, shudder-inducingly referred to as the "Meat Lover's Mini Steak". In a way our entire experience at the Aquarium was like my fish: a winner more on its' parts than its' sum. The ability to swim up to an open bar tab & a nice dinner should not be understated. Tell me what day ?no matter how challenging? couldn't be drawn to a satisfactory conclusion by applying some combination of beach, water, beer, and chow? The Aquarium has each in liberal abundance.

Very romantic, upmarket restaurant

This restaurant is picture-perfect. Set right on a small and pretty beach, the restaurant itself is set amidst tropical gardens with a koi pond and waterfall. The wine cellar can be viewed behind glass doors when entering the restaurant. Our food was extremely good, the steaks being particularly tasty and tender. The music duo provided good background music and the whole restaurant had a lovely relaxed feel to it. The staff were also extremely professional and attentive.
