Santa Elena has a very limited selection of comedores, so even if you're staying there you may want to cross the causeway for an evening out. Virtually all this has been taken illegally from reserves and you should avoid ordering items such as tepescuintle (paca, a large relation of the guinea-pig), venado (deer), or coche de monte (peccary, or wild pig).
