You're unlikely to encounter too many problems with crime in Sweden, and thus will have little need to contact the police. If you do, you'll find them courteous and generally able to speak English. In case of health problems , there is no GP system and you should instead go direct to a hospital with your passport, where for 140kr you'll receive treatment; if you have to stay in hospital it will cost you an additional 80kr per day. If you need medicine, take your prescription to a pharmacist - Apotek in Swedish - which will be open shop hours, although Stockholm has a 24-hour pharmacy. Larger towns operate a rota system of late opening, with the address of the nearest late-opener posted on the door of each pharmacy.
