which is the most expensive/cheapest city in Europe you ever visited?

hi!
I mean where in Europe you met the highest prices and you needed A LOT for living, and where they were so low, that you didn't spend much?
i would like to hear opinions based on your personal experience.

Ehh. I think the most expensive city I visited was LONDON. The prices are huge there !! And the most expensive is the transportation. In spring i went on a trip there and i had all in all 120 pounds for 6 day. And if you can imagiine, on the last day, to get back from the train station to the airport, it costed me 45 pounds. And it was all I had left... Awefull!

Everybody still asks me if i got on the London eye. and i say NO, i won't spend 30 pounds for a half an hour over the ground, to get me sick and maybe see the whole LONDON....
What else.?..
But besides that, it was all so beautifull.. There are things that have to be visited: St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, the houses of parliament. They are unique!

I didn't travel to much and mostly visited not very expensive countries but I always stayed sticked to a very good principle: one should never think about how much a certain price will be in his own currency- just have fun! - the money's destination is to be spent . What do you think?

Re: which is the most expensive/cheapest city in Europe you ever visited?

So.. the most expensive i have visited so far is Prague. And it costs quite a lot.
For example beer in Prague, I mean, center, with tourists, costs 50 crowns. And, the same beer in a Pub, far away from the capital costs about 14 crowns.... there's quite a difference!

And i think Prague is expensive.. can't wait to see the prices in London! this is going to be... interesting.. so.. probably when i return there will be another post saying..

"So.. the most expensive i have visited so far is London"...

well, recently i have heard a new way of mesuring a country's developpement level, according to the cost of McDonald's Hamburger. So the most expensive is the one, where a hamburger costs more ))

You're absolutely right, Monique! McDonald's must have a very sophisticated system of price establishment according to the GDP/GNP or whatever other indices they may use. The very same hamburger may cost over a dozen times more in a developed country than in a developing one. Just drop by a McDonald's every time you travel to a foreign country, and see it all for yourself!

Denis.

DEFENETLY LONDON!

to eat at Burger king a meal you need 4 pounds, which is about 8$. I think this is quite.. expensive

and a burger at McDonalds, the cheapest one, is 1.5$. so.. just to use Monique's indicator for comparison!
