Girona Atico is a marvelous and spacious duplex apartment, entirely refurbished in summer 2008. The 100 sq m apartment combines original features, such as decorative ceilings and wooden doors and windows, with a style that is radically modern. Located on the fifth and sixth floors, it offers both incredible light and tranquility. The enormous terrace boasts amazing views of Tibidabo hill, the Mediterranean and the Barcelona roof scape. In the main stairwell, a wonderful floor of modernist tiles has been retained (no elevator).
This apartment is situated in the very heart of the elegant Eixample neighborhood, on Girona Street, from which you can reach many excellent restaurants, bars, shops and Barcelona’s grand avenues, all within walking distance. The underground stop Urquinaona (red and yellow lines) is three blocks away, and central Catalunya Square in just a five minute walk.
The apartment’s interior reflects the owners’ distinctive modern taste in its bold colors and decorative style. On the lower floor you will find the spacious master bedroom with double bed, a single bedroom (with space to add a second single bed) and an open atrium containing another single bed (another can be added). Upstairs there is a spectacular living and dining area with floor-to-ceiling doors and windows on three sides, an American kitchen and a bar. Each floor has its own full bathroom. The living room looks out onto a large, sunny, private, furnished front terrace. An even larger rooftop terrace is at the rear.
Girona Atico is immediately adjacent to a similar (smaller) one-bedroom apartment, Girona Studio. A sliding door links the two and can be opened to create spacious accommodation.
