Our Inn is a handsome colonial structure dating back to 1894. The mansion was built by Joseph Courtemanche, a local blacksmith and carriagemaker who made his fortune as the visionary who built the first electric power plant in the valley. (A local story has it that Mr. Courtemanche, feeling that "early to bed, early to rise" was a sound idea, used to turn off the power plant at precisely 10 PM... leaving everyone in the village with no choice but to go to bed early!)
The Inn is nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont, in the historic village of Wilmington. Surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens, and has a covered deck for summer outside gatherings. It's the perfect place for intimate weddings, civil ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, and vow renewals.
The main house has tall ceilings and a lovely living room with fireplace and conversation areas. Off of the living room is the Cocktail Bar with its original tin ceiling, the Chart room and the Restaurant which is open to Inn guests and the public for Dinner on Tuesdays & Thursday thru Sunday plus SUnday Brunch.
Main building houses 4 guest rooms and a 3 room suite, pub, Lincoln library, living room and dining room. Renovated carriage house has 3 guest rooms and a 3 room suite. The inn is decorated with antiques, country furnishings, and a splash of the owner’s travels. Dine by candlelight in our main dining room or alfresco on the deck. Lounge in an adorondak chair or stroll into the village.
