The Garden House is a Queen Anne styled Victorian home. It was built in 1896 by Albert Wells Pettibone, Jr., son of the founder of the family lumber businesses: the Hannibal Saw Mill Company and the Hannibal Sash and Company.
Located in Historic Downtown Hannibal, Mark Twain’s hometown, on the street once known as Millionaire’s Row because of its beautiful homes and fine architecture, the Garden House Bed & Breakfast beckons guests to lodge in a beautifully restored 1896 Victorian Queen Anne home.

Property amenities:
Guests have the rule of the house in the Garden House’s two parlors (historically, a gentlemen’s and a ladies’), two foyers (downstairs and upstairs) and formal Iris dining room. The South Room has a king bed with a yellow rose decor and a view of the Mississippi River. The East Room boasts a unique four-poster queen canopy bed and also overlooks the Mighty Mississippi River. The West Room has a king size Cheerywood sleigh bed and North Room is a secluded, queen size bed, with violet hues with a garden view, respectively.
Nightly bed turn-down service with German chocolates, bottled waters and snacks in each room. Cotton robes, all beds are featherbeds, free WiFi wireless, cable TV, DVD/VHS in every room (200+ movie selections), CD Player/Alarm clocks, three course gourmet breakfast each morning, coffes and teas, optional four course Dinners in the evening, Wine options, walk to town centre with museums, atractions, shops, Mississippi River...we are located in the historic district.

Other area adventures can be explored including horseback riding, fishing and boating on Mark Twain Lake, riding a steamboat on the river, explore the famous Mark Twain Caves, museums, shopping, Artisian stores, take a trolley ride, golf. Special events in Hannibal, feature collector automobiles, folklife and crafts, bluegrass music, Victorian holidays and of course Tom, Huck and Becky. Swimming (pool or lake), wineries

100 miles north of St. Louis, Missouri (and the International airport); 300 miles southwest of Chicago, Illinois; easy access by car.

Policy:
·2 nights minimum stay is required on some weekends, holidays and during special events.
·Smoking is NOT allowed inside the House.
·Incense is prohibited. Candles are only allowed if provided by the Innkeepers.
·Deposit or credit card required at time of booking. All funds USD.
·We accept Cash, Checks, Travelers Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
·Check-in time is 3-5 pm with late arrivals by advance arrangement only.
·Check out time is 11 am.
Cancellations made at least 15 days in advance of scheduled arrivals will be refunded, less a $35 administration fee. For cancellations made less than 15 days in advance, a full refund will be provided less a $35 administration fee, PROVIDING we can rebook your room to another guest. Cancellations made 48 hours or less will receive no refund. Cancellation are valid only by a phone call to us personally, no emails, Voicemails. Thanks for your understanding.
