M13100 is located in an untouched wilderness area south of the magnificent Cederberg mountains, three hours from Cape Town near Ceres. The reserve is well known for its scenic beauty and dramatic rock formations typical of the Cedarberg and has a rich cultural heritage with hundreds of Bushman/San rock paintings or rock art of up to 6000 years old. On our celebrated San Cultural Tour guests can appreciate the ancient Bushman living sites at first hand and get an in-depth interpretation of the rock paintings from one of our expert guides.

Accommodation at the luxurious game lodge are nestled between unbelievable Table Mountain sandstone formations and resembles bushman “caves” and rondavels, all with en-suite bathrooms. In the open-air boma restaurant guests can enjoy sumptuous South African cuisine, including venison dishes, and an excellent selection of wines from the nearby Cape winelands. Air-conditioned conference facilities is available at the lodge for up to 70 guests.

Property amenities:
Bushmen Lodge offers a choice of accommodation; there are five spacious en suite thatched rondavels, suitable for families with children. There are also ten unique ’cave suites’; these have a private terrace, en suite bathrooms and twin beds. Built against the mountain, the buildings blend perfectly with the surrounding landscape, to the point of almost being invisible.

The lodge has a restaurant for breakfast and lunch and an outdoor lapa for dinner under the starlit night skies. There is a cosy bar and an outdoor garden perfect for relaxing and sipping a cool drink. Interesting rock formations surrounds the sparkling swimming pool. A well-stocked curio shop is available to purchase that essential souvenir of your stay.

To maximise your experience of this unique land, our expert rangers will interpret the Bushmen paintings and their fascinating ancient culture, on guided walks and drives. Other inclusive activities during your stay include a sundowner drink with breathtaking views and morning and night nature/game drives to spot resident species, such as, Black Wildebeest, Ostrich, Zebra, Springbok, Bontebok, Gemsbok and many other antelope species including the huge Eland.

See the stars and planets closer than ever at our Mini-Observatory. Our resident expert will ensure you get the best possible views of the night skies through our 10-inch telescope, including close up views of the moon and planets and other deep space objects. A truly unique experience.

A guided quad bike safari takes you to some remote, inaccessible parts of the reserve while powering your own bike! Spend your free time hiking on one of our hiking trails, bird watching or relaxing at the lodge's swimming pool built into the stunning Cederberg rock formations. Our Health and Beauty Spa offers a wide range of treatments including deluxe manicures and pedicures, hot stone therapy and luxury facials. Unique to M13100 is our new Fynbos Therapy, incorporating the finest essential oils indigenous to the fynbos area.
