At the North Eastern tip of North America is a fly fisherman paradise. The east Ungava Bay peninsula is a place where there are more char rivers and streams than fishermen. Rapid Lake Lodge’s Barnoin River Lodge is the only lodge in this vast wilderness area. In 2006 Barnoin River Lodge accommodates only 4 VIP anglers each week.
Guests enjoy exclusive access by helicopter and float plane to over sixty miles of classic riffles, runs, pools and tributaries. Arctic char in these drainages are huge on the average and though the most productive fishing is done with medium to heavy sinking tips.
Our heli-guides or floatplane guides will fly you to our best char rivers and pools where you’ll have the chance to catch and release as many as 30 plus char a day. During the 2005 char fishing season the average char that was kept by our clients weight 12 1/2 lbs.
