Damdochax River Lodge
Is located on Damdochax Lake, at the mouth of the Damdochax River. Within one mile, a world class Rainbow fishery can be found, as well as some of the best Steelhead pontoon boat fishing imaginable (yes, Steelhead in a lake!).

Cottonwood Creek
Located 3 miles downstream from Damdochax Lake, this camp sits on a bank overlooking an oxbow of prime Steelhead water. We sight fish Steelhead, in runs such as the aptly named "corner store".

Moss Creek
A two hour raft trip downstream (3 miles) from Cottonwood is where you will find Moss Creek Lodge. It is within walking distance from some of the best dry fly water in North America.

Alder Lodge
Can be described as the "shangri la" of Spey fishing. Nestled at the confluence of the Nass and Damdochax Rivers, and within a 300 ft walk to the river, this water is an anglers dream.

Property amenities:
Our Lodge on the lake began with a small log cabin, a remnant of the Collins Overland Telegraph which went through this country in the early 1930’s. We moved into it in 1977. Now anglers stay in this historic cabin which overlooks the lake and the inlet. The main lodge, a shower/laundry building, woodsheds, small buildings and internal frame wall tents make up the remainder of the camp.

Our river camps are where we spend much of the fishing season. They sit on the bank overlooking prime steelhead water and are composed of tent cabins, for guests and staff, a hand crafted cabin as the dining/meeting area, the shower house and cache.

Nearby attractions and activities:
BEAR VIEWING - as good as it gets. This is an interesting invitation to anyone, either amateur or professional photographers interested in learning something of the lives and natures of the Grizzlies of the Damdochax. You would stay in our historic Telegraph Trail cabin on the shores of Damdochax Lake. After eating we suit up, go to the canoes, settle in and paddle for 20 minutes, putting in at the lake outlet. Immediately we are in the place where the bears most like to live and feast. This heavily treed on one side, old growth forest and historic meadow where the Gitxsan lived on the other is simply delicious in its intimacy and abundance.

WILDLIFE - In the spring, Moose with new calves are visible on the shoreline. In the fall the best of the bulls can be seen with the females. Wolves can be seen or heard from time to time; traveling up and down the valley, eating dead Chinook and trailing Moose. We hear their astonishing songs and howls in the mountains of the Damdochax and it speaks to us of wilderness. Although the wildlife is abundant, it is at the same time vulnerable. We choose through our activities to respect and protect those lands and the creatures on it. We celebrate our opportunities to be here, to show this remarkable valley to our guests and to learn from it. This is an intact old growth ecosystem undisturbed by road or industry.
