Originally settled in the late 1700’s, Camden is home to the Schooners Surpise, Olad, and the Winjammer Fleet, the tiny harbor crowded with masts, nestled below Mt. Battie, presents the picture of the New England charm of a bygone era.
Originally built by Elijah Glover, a local shipbuilder and logger, this Victorian style Home with Greek Revival features retains many of its original details, such as moldings carved by shipwrights, and the simple practical elegance characteristic of Mainers then and now. All rates listed are per night, single or double occupancy, and are subject to Maine’s seven percent lodging tax. Additional persons (when the room allows and at the Innkeeper’s discretion) are $40 per person, per night. Prime season weekend reservations require a two-night minimum stay. Certain holiday periods require a two or three-night minimum stay. Please call to check specific availability.
To confirm a reservation, a deposit of one night’s lodging cost or 50% of the entire reservation cost, whichever is greater, is due at the time of booking per room reserved. The deposit is applied to room charges, and the balance is due upon arrival at check-in. We accept cash payment, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. If the cancellation is made more than 14 days before the start of the reservation period, we will be glad to refund your deposit, less $25 or the actual cost of credit card processing fees, whichever is greater. We regret that a cancellation received fewer than 14 days before the reservation period must forfeit the entire deposit. Email and voice-mail cancellations will not effect a reservation cancellation. The Windward House is a non-smoking inn. We regret that we are not able to accommodate pets.
