We provide a vacation experience unlike any other, along with a unique opportunity to relax your mind, recharge your spirit and inspire your soul. The Hemlock House is a comfortable, newly-renovated Coastal Heritage building. There are three double occupancy rooms, a downstairs lounge offering panoramas of Blackfish Sound, as well as selection of locally produced First Nations art, a wood-burning fireplace, plush seating for everyone, and a growing library of books on local history and related novels. There is an upstairs reading room for those who wish to enjoy our library in a quieter setting.
Our comfortable lodge located in a private Remote Island, houses 6 - 10 guests. Here you will experience cozy living arrangements, our own private library, patio and beach, fine west coast seafood meals, First Nations cultural experiences and plenty of entertainment. This summer come join us, with the resident Orca Killer whales as they gather to feed and socialize in the emerald waters of the Johnstone Strait and Broughton Archipelago.
Experience the Kwakiutl people and culture as you move through their world, paddling through waters that were once traveled in cedar canoes. Listen to their stories, translated from their ancient tongue as you sit around a fire in the evenings. It is our hope that each guest will leave the Hemlock House with a deeper appreciation of the natural world and its many gifts, and that this will spread the urge to preserve and protect the world’s remaining wilderness areas. Discover a world where life is lived at natures pace at the Hemlock House Lodge.
