We offer you hunting and fishing in those corners of the world that are still under investigated and untouched by man. It’s here, in the Russian North, in the Nenets Autonomous Area, on the Volonga river, a new fishing-and-hunting tourist camp has been functioning since 2002. What is this region notable for? The Nenets Autonomous Area is situated in the north-east of Arkhangelsk Oblast and except the south-west located over the polar circle. Over 4/5 of its square is occupied with the tundra and permafrost. This gives a specific exotic tint to travelling. But the main thing is nature itself, untouched by civilization, peculiarities of the local flora and fauna, purity of the water, an unusually wide variety of salmon fishes.
The Volonga river is a part of this nature. There are 19 fish species - salmon, bulltrout, Arctic loach, white salmon, hunchback salmon, grayling, omul, peled, white-fish, others. Salmon undoubtedly causes a special interest within those fond of fishing. Commercial fishing of Atlantic salmon was ceased in the 80ies. According to the data of the Polar Scientific Research Institute Sev PINRO the average mass of salmon is 5,5 kg. The maximum weight of the salmon caught was 18 kg. The main trump card of the river is "silver" salmon during the whole fishing season.

Our tourist camp is inaccessible for common kinds of transport. To get to this marvelous place is possible only by helicopter. The air travel to the tourist camp on the Volonga River takes 2 hrs 30 min. The helicopter takes off Arkhangelsk and lands right in the tourist camp. The tourist camp is situated between numerous rifts and reaches, up and down the flow, the distance to which is possible to cover on foot. An amphibian landrover "ÀRGÎ" allows you to go quickly along the river, as well as to comfortably cross the river that considerably increases the fishing possibilities. An experienced guide-instructor always helps you to find potential fishing spots. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - smorgasbord - are prepared by a professional cook taking into account your wishes including dietetic meals.
The tourist camp is provided with electricity. Accommodation is in doubles in summer houses equipped with everything required (chairs, beds, cupboards, heaters, etc.). Opposite to peace and forsakenness of this corner, you can find a hot-water shower, bathhouse (banya) and well-equipped kitchen with fireplace that’s like a chief cabin for all tourists gathering in a big room to watch TV, discuss plans for tomorrow or just to call their family with a satellite telephone.

The Volonga river flows into the Cheshskaya Bay of the Barents Sea. The river length - 110 km. The largest tributaries: rivers Kumushka and Travyanka. The river regards to a group of half-mountain rivers, width 25-50 m, flow speed 0,5 - 0,8 m/ñ. The down figures vary from 1 m/km to 2,5 m/km. The whole route is presented by alternating rapids, rifts and stony chutes. The river depth is small. On the rifts in summertime they don’t exceed 0,7 m, reaches are from 1,5-2,5 m deep. The river bottom is pebble, sandy-and-pebble, and sandy, on several spots - stony bed. The riverbank is presented by rocks with northern birches and spruce. In the upper parts there are many graylings up to 2 kg, sometimes you can find salmon, bulltrout, Arctic loach. The maximum weight for the salmon caught in 2003 - 14,8 kg, in 2004 - 10,2 kg. The maximum weight for the bulltrout caught in 2003 - 2,75 kg, in 2004 - 3,2 kg.

Program: Our tour starts in Arkhangelsk, in Vaskovo Airport, the flight from Arkhangelsk to the tourist camp - 9:00, the flight time - 2 hrs 30 min. The hunting place is located between the lodging zone and riverside. The transfer to the hunting place is possible by amphibian landrover "ARGÎ".
Hunting objects: Grey goose, white-fronted goose, bean goose, brand goose.
Hunting methods: Covered from view using goose-models and sound baits (given by the hunting organizer).
