Nkwali is located on Robin's private land, overlooking the National Park. The land is superb gameviewing country, with a beautiful area of ebony woodland and open grasslands. Elephants regularly cross the Luangwa, seen from the bar, or come to the waterhole near the thatched dining room. The chalets are cool and spacious, overlooking the river. Access to the park is by boat or our nearby pontoon. The area is famous for leopard and giraffe sightings. Nkwali is open all year and the seasons are basically divided into the “dry season” (mid May – October) and the “green season” (November – mid May).
At Nkwali Camp, we welcome children and individually tailor safari activities for each family. We believe that children should be included as much as possible and as such specific programs are designed for them depending on their ages and interests. There is a whole range of safari activities available including game drives and nature walks to learn to identify animal spoor and droppings, birding for beginners and learning to use spotlights at night.
Families can do activities together or the children can be looked after and entertained by our staff. Other activities available include safari packs with fun quizzes and puzzles, trips to Kawaza school to meet Zambian children, helping bake cookies in the kitchen and collecting eggs from the hen house. The older boys love going to the workshop for the morning, playing sport (beach cricket) or even having a sleep in, lazy morning and fry up by the pool.

Nearby attractions and activities:
Nkwali Camp is located directly acroos the river from the South Luangwa National Park, guests are transported by boat or pontoon across the river into the park, which maximizes time spent game viewing. The camp is also located about 1 hour from Kawaza Village, where guests can visit a traditional Kunda village for a day or even spend the night to get a taste of Zambian culture.

Nkwali can be reached by taking a 1.5 hour flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe. The camp is located approximatly 45 minutes from the Mfuwe Airport.

- For Nkwali Camp, Children must be 7 years or older.
- No pets allowed
- Cancellation: 90-31 days, 25% cancellation fees; 30- days, 100% cancellation fees.
- Payment: 25% deposit is required to confirm a booking, full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
