Activities
We are an activities-based river lodge where there’s no shortage of things to keep you busy. But it is you who sets the pace. You may just want to sit back, relax or if you prefer, you can always find a private spot to read a book or reconnect with your soul.
Guided walks
Guided walks consist either of an early morning circular guided walk, or a “walk out with a bush brunch”, followed by a drive back to the lodge in a game viewing vehicle.
River walks
Enjoy an early morning walk alongside the river to a spot where you are taken to an island for exploring or fishing. Have brunch and then enjoy a leisurely cruise back to the lodge.
Fishing excursions
Fishing enthusiasts will enjoy fly, lure or bait fishing on the many channels of the Kafue River. Stay out for the day or just a few hours.
River cruises
Enjoy a relaxing, leisurely cruise on the Kafue River, taking in all
the sights and sounds. A wonderful photo opportunity for those who
appreciate the glory and wonders of nature.
Game viewing
Treat yourself to an early morning drive out in an open game viewing
vehicle culminating in a guided walk back to camp for those wishing to get close to nature and learn about how the African bush “ticks”.
Sundowner excursions
Go out on a late afternoon guided walk to special spots and enjoy
sundowners, or even a “Bush Barbecue” at spectacular viewpoints,
followed by an early night drive back to the lodge.
Specialist birding
Kafue river and its surroundings are blessed with over 470 different
bird species. Specialist birding outings by boat or on foot can be arranged for half or full days to different habitats.
New activities
Our new activities include Wilderness Trails for one or more days. Have your own dedicated guide and tracker take you on a walk through the Kafue National Park. After dinner, relax in tents that are put up for the occasion. How close to nature can one get!
Or float down the Kafue in a rubber duck at your own pace, have a lovely dinner and spend the night on the banks of the river. You can either continue for a few days or be driven back to the lodge the next day.

Property amenities:
The central "Boma" is a combination of lounge, bar, restaurant and a large deck, all overlooking the river. Our bar staff welcome everybody all day for a relaxing time. We can also take you for a 10 min walk to the river rapids, where you can enjoy your private "jacuzzi" in the middle of the river.

About 300 kms from Lusaka and some 400 kms from Livingstone. Namwala Game Management Area, adjacent to the Kafue National Park. GPS: 15°17'46,11" South, 25°48'40,72" EAST
Policy:
- Children welcome
- No minimum stay, although due to big distances, two nights are advised
- Check-in, from 12 am onwards
- Check-out, 11 am
- No smoking in accommodation, smoking allowed in bar/lounge
- No pets (for their own safety)
- KaingU Safari Lodge is situated in the remote bush of Zambia. Wild animals are around. Guests are briefed about the safety measures upon arrival.
Reservation Conditions
- provisional reservations are held for up to one month
- a deposit of 20 % confirms a reservation, refundable only up to three months prior to arrival date
- full payment to be received at least one month prior to arrival
- cancellation charges: between 14-30 days prior to arrival - 50%; less than 14 days - 100%.
Packages:
Besides a stay at the lodge, we can provide a "Complete Kafue Experience". Our Kushiyana Safaris are entirely tailor-made. The rates depend on the number of persons in your party and vary between $ 450 and $ 600 pp/pn.

Minimum cost for Emerald season (Dec-March), Maximum cost for high season (April-November), both per person sharing. Depending on the number of guests and the number of days, KaingU Safari Lodge can grant you discounted rates.
