Roanoke Lodge is a spacious solid wood lodge with panoramic views of Lake Taupo, total privacy, with separate guest entrances. Roanoke caters for single parties only at a time and is completely self contained. While Roanoke has become very popular over the past ten years as a fishing lodge and is the ’home base’ for Dream Streams Fly Fishing, we also look after many guests who are not interested in fishing and just want a relaxing holiday close to the many varied attractions on the Central Plateau of the North Island.
We call Roanoke a lodge, but it is really quite different from the big, impersonal lodges that are numerous in many places around the world. It would perhaps be better to call Roanoke a "home away from home", as when you stay with us you essentially become part of the family! We’re sure that this is what our guests treasure and it helps to explain the large number of repeat bookings we get every year.

Roanoke caters for single parties only at a time and is completely self contained, comprising one double and two twin bedrooms, private lounge with open fire and TV, private bathroom, separate toilet and laundry facilities. The lodge is tastefully decorated, with comfortable leather couches and chairs - the sundeck and barbecue are very popular in the summer months.
Guests have a choice of ’self catering’ in their well equipped kitchen or dining upstairs with us - over the past years Christine has made Roanoke famous for the wonderful meals that are served alfresco on the covered upper deck in the summer or inside if the weather is chilly. She serves distinctive New Zealand style cuisine, featuring lamb, chicken, venison and steak, and we also feature our world famous seafoods - freshly caught seafish, green lipped mussels and salmon. Pre dinner drinks and nibbles are followed by a superb three or four course dinner accompanied by an exciting selection of New Zealand wines from our cellar, or you are most welcome to bring your own wine selection upstairs.
