How about venturing to a small Alaskan community, such as Excursion Inlet, Glacier Bay, Hoonah, or Pelican, for a day of sightseeing. You might enjoy taking a tour of one of the largest and last salmon canneries still operating in S.E. Alaska - Excursion Inlet's Wards Cove Packing Company. In Glacier Bay, you can spend a day cruising around the largest deposit of glaciers in the world at Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. Hoonah is an interesting Tlinget Indian community, and has a fascinating history involving the travels of John Muir.

If kayaking is a favorite outdoor activity than you'll be in 'hog heaven' paddling around our small cove or venturing out to George Island's shoreline. Our lodge subscribes to a 'lodge to lodge' kayaking tour package with Gustavus Spirit Walker Expeditions. It's a wonderful way to 'get up close and personal' with the grandeur of Glacier Bay's world famous glaciers.

Hiking is a great way to savor some of the tremendously beautiful glacier-hewn landscapes in our area, so put on your hiking boots and let's venture over to an Alaskan muskeg, or hike up the top of one of our areas sub alpine mountain-tops for a panoramic view of ocean, islands, mountains and glaciers. There's incredible natural wonders at every turn of the head - pristine waterfalls, wildlife, muskegs, sub-alpine flora, snowy mountains and vast stretches of virgin Alaskan wilderness.
