The property is 4km of the Klondike Highway, about 1hr, 110 km north of Whitehorse. We cross the Klusha Creek, there is no bridge, which ensures privacy. There are no other buildings on the lake. The Property is bordered by a river on one side and the lake to the south. There is the historic “Braeburn Road House” site nearby, a stop over during the Gold Rush era. We are right on the Dawson overland trail and next to the Trans Canada Trail.
Property amenities:
The main Loghouse has 6 bedrooms each having a double and single bed. There is nice south facing living area, a large south facing deck over viewing the private lake, and separate eating room. Wood heat, gravity fed water, propane lights and cook stove. This is not a high end property it is true wilderness lodge, newly build in 2002, but no running water, power or such, on purpose. We have a separate shower house and Sauna, also log, for our guests, as well as a second cabin with an open fire place. There are 3 other log cabins for 2 people each on 4km away Braeburn Lake. This property sports hot showers and running water and has a year around care taker, Don Banks.
Nearby attractions and activities:
The real attraction is the surrounding pristine nature, from migrating birds in spring and fall, to wildlife like moose and bison and good fishing in unknown lakes nearby. There are great trails to explore the area, the Trans Canada trail connects in 4km distance. Also there is the, for its giant cinnamon buns famous, “Braeburn Highway” Lodge in 5 km distance and an Airstrip. Floatplanes can land in front of the property.
