Right back to the rooms; our 37 en suite bedrooms all enjoy the following:

* Direct Dial telephones (international operator collect call facility via reception)
* Modem connection point (shared with telephone)
* Hairdryer & trouser press (a separate ironing room is available)
* Complimentary hot beverage tray (decaffeinated & herbal teas are available)

Rooms are designated standard or superior, the latter being larger or enjoying what are generally considered better aspects or featuring refurbished bathrooms. The majority of our rooms are non-smoking and most are served by a lift. 36 rooms are either double or twin bedded with most twins being family rooms (double + single bed). An extra bed can be added to allow these rooms to comfortably sleep 2A/2C (or be used as triple rooms) and cots are available. With only one single room the vast majority of those requiring single rooms benefit from sole occupancy of a double/family room.

Dine in our lovely restaurant where a mouth watering a la carte menu is served every night together with chef's daily specials. On most nights a Carvery also operates (virtually always on Saturday nights). Our food philosophy is simple: real food and real flavours. We avoid endless, multi-flavoured creations with never ending descriptions and pretentious presentations.

Nearby attractions and activities:
The imposing sandstone building enjoys a peaceful location overlooking The Serpentine (Park) on one side and the delightful Pavilion Gardens from the front. Though these gardens extend to 23 acres the most important buildings including the Conservatory, Octagon Hall, Spa Water pool and Bandstand are a mere stones throw from the hotel. The Opera House, Georgain Crescent, Pump Room and St Ann's Well (your chance to sample Buxton Natural Mineral Water) are five minutes distant and form a gateway into the unique town centre that is Buxton.

Greenery abounds in all directions and the blend of trees, lawns and flora along with the quietness of the immediate area (broadly residential) combine sublimely to produce a relaxing atmosphere, which can only be fully appreciated first hand.

Policy:
* The majority of our rooms are non-smoking and most are served by a lift.
* Credit/debit card details (card number/exp date/issue no (if shown) cardholder name & address) are required to guarantee all bookings.
* We do not charge anything in advance and ’guarantee’ means your room(s) will not be let to anybody else on the day of your arrival.
* However in the event of cancellation the cost of the stay may be charged in full if the room(s) is not resold. Obviously the earlier cancellation is advised the better the chance of re-letting the room(s) and so avoiding charges.

* If you do not have a credit/debit card or prefer not to supply details a cheque for a non refundable deposit is acceptable. The amount will be advised at the time of booking. You still remain liable for the unpaid amount in the event of cancellation/no show.
* We are able to supply details of cancellation insurance if required.

Various packages are available which provide arrival and meal drinks. These start at $8 pp and drinks aside provide other benefits most important of which is a complimentary overnight stay plus breakfast for a couple (usually but not always the Bride and Groom). Where possible this room will be the Ports of Call Suite. A top table fresh flower decoration is also provided.
