With 20 years of experience M11450 virtually invented eco-tourism and won an award for being the best in the world in this category. We divide our guests into very small groups with an English speaking naturalist guide and native tracker for excursions that offer optimum wildlife viewing possibilities and can cater to special needs.
The cabanas of M11450 come of a native design: rustic, authentic and comfortable beyond your wildest dreams with all the amenities (hot water) to make you feel civilized.Beyond sweet dreams Even though you won't be spending much time there (except for a siesta now and then) you will find the cabanas cozy and immaculately clean.Hope for a night time rain for there is nothing like the sound of rain on a thatched roof.
The cabanas at M11450 are made entirely of secondary rain forest materials and are designed to blend with Ecuador's Jungle. M11450 boasts 17 thatched-roofed cabins of various sizes from doubles up to our largest the family cabana which sleeps 7, and a spacious dining room cone-shaped roof.
Other gathering spots at M11450 include an breezy bar and lounge area with a wrap-around view of our private lake. You can sneak a siesta in the hammock hut, or spend some there gently swinging in your own breeze and reviewing photos of the day on your digital camera.

Bird Watching
With perhaps the highest species list in the neo-tropics, M11450 uses native birding experts for those guests with this singular passion.
The Natives speak minimal English, but know the names of all the birds, and, more importantly, how to find them.
Please specify in advance if you are a birder and would like to take advantage of this service that La Selva Jungle Lodge offers.
Tree Tower
Not far from M11450 you can observe many birds flying by at eye level, wildlife of all kinds, and, yes, a bird's-eye view of it all, from the top platform of M11450 observation tree tower.
The Butterfly Farm
Only 5 minutes from M11450 Lodge, a guide will take you there at least once during your stay; however, many people go back a second and third time on their own.
M11450 Lodge Butterfly Farm was designed to present an ecologically sound, sustainable alternative way to help preserve Ecuador's rainforest. It is another step in M11450 Lodge's ongoing effort to find viable ways (besides ecotourism) to help save Ecuador's beautiful rain forest.
