Surrounded by two large freshwater lagoons teaming with egrets, herons, cormorants, and other exotic birdlife, the lodge’s lounge, bar, and dining area are situated at the base of a low hill, while twelve cabins are scattered along the winding stone path leading from it. Each cabin is nestled in a grove of trees and tropical flowers, and each has a private veranda with a view of the nearby savanna and rainforest. A private executive chef ensures a fine dining experience with a menu composed of both classical dishes as well as native ingredients.

Just steps away from the lodge are the archaeological ruins of Nim Li Punit (Big Hat) a small but significant site with many carved monuments including the second largest in the Maya World. Southern Belize is the homeland of the largest indigenous Maya population in the country. Journey through traditional Maya Villages and step back in time. Visit Lubanntun (Place of Fallen Stones), a major trading center for the region and in ancient time producing large quantities of Cacao (chocolate). Step into the Maya underworld with a back country cave expedition.

From Indian Creek Lodge, explore Boden Creek Reserve’s with miles of nature trails either on foot, by mountain bike, or electric safari cart. This 13,000 acre reserve is surrounded by nearly a million acres of protected areas and is a haven for wildlife. Over 400 species of birds have been recorded, tapir and other mammals are in abundance, and the largest concentration of jaguar can be found within the Golden Stream watershed. Visit Ballum Na (“House of the Jaguar”) and our Wildlife Rescue Center. Other excursions include cave expeditions, backcountry hikes, and swamp and river canoe trips.
