Initially, the Victoria House doesn't have the feel of a resort in the usual sense and one soon realizes that it is a complete and total retreat, free from the boundaries and pressures of day-to-day life and renowned as one of the best bare-foot resorts in the region. Nestled among tall swaying palms on white sand beaches with an ambiance of relaxation, privacy and casual elegance the resort offers all the services of a luxury hotel without the formalities.
The accommodations are varied here and sure to please you. Surrounded by ten acres of tropical flowers and fauna are Plantation rooms and suites, charming Palapa Casitas and three private Villa's, all fully air-conditioned and most with beach views. A lovely beachfront swimming pool is the perfect gathering place to relax, indulge in a fresh seafood lunch and soak up some island sunshine. On the hotel's pier is Fantasea Dive Center where Javier Williams, Victoria House Activities Coordinator, is ready to facilitate your day trips, arrange your reef and fly-fishing guides and incredible Belize diving and snorkeling experiences.

Fishing
Belizean waters are justifiably world-renowned for sports fishing. Whether your desires are to land a dinner for your table after a day on the reef, the thrill of hooking a huge game fish, or light tackle and fly-fishing for bonefish on the flats, you will find our guides to be some of the best in the country. Many of our guests return year after year for the opportunity of fishing with their favorite guide. You may be back next year for the very same reason!
Diving
One of the worlds longest barrier reefs is approximately one-half mile from the beaches of Victoria House. We offer full diving packages as well as daily 1 and 2 tank dives. Guides are PADI certified and we require proof of Certification from all divers.
Snorkeling
In the crystal clear waters of Ambergris Caye non-divers can enjoy the beauty of the under-the-sea world. There are several sites to snorkel and skin-dive, Hol Chan under water Marine Reserve, Mexico Rocks and Coral Garden are all within a short boat ride for the Victoria House Pier. All equipment can be rented from Fantasea Dive Shop located on the pier.
Maya ruins sites
Long before the discovery of the Americas by Europeans, the land now known as Belize was home to a thriving and advance culture. The living descendants of this period are a proud part of the mosaic of modern Belize, while the remains of their cities and cultural centers are found all over the land. Many are recognized archeological sites but others remain undiscovered in farmers' fields and towns people's back gardens. We will be happy to assist you in planning a day trip or an overnight excursion to these unique aspects of our Belizean heritage. From the island we recommend two Mayan sites; Altun Ha and Lamanai
The trip to these sites begins with a boat ride from Victoria House Pier for a short crossing to the mainland. You will then have a snack breakfast on board and head up the Northern River to the village of Bomba. Along the way you'll have the chance to see crocodiles, exotic birds, tropical fauna and other denizens of the jungle river environment. At Bomba, road transportation awaits for a short trip overland to either the ruins of Altun Ha or to another jungle riverboat for Lamanai. If your trip is to Altun Ha you will then be taken to the Maruba Jungle Lodge for lunch (not included in trip cost) or served lunch at the site of Lamanai. Return to Victoria House in time to freshen up before dinner.
Birding
An amazing variety of birds including the rare and secretive Black Catbird may be observed in the immediate vicinity of Victoria House, and a short forty minute boat ride to the leeward side of Ambergris Caye will introduce you to the many more birds indigenous to this area. Some species you can observe will include Great Blue and Little Blue Herons, Roseate Spoonbills, White Ibis, Brown Pelicans, the Reddish Egret in its rare White Phase and the majestic five foot tall Jabiru Strork. On your way back for lunch at the hotel you may choose to stop for a refreshing snorkel on the reef.
