Our 300-acre property is truly a wildlife sanctuary in an environment of cliffs, rivers, mountains & meadows. The wild life at Sugar Hollow is plentiful. You are guaranteed to see many deer during your stay, wild turkeys pass through often, and on a rare occasion you may see Ben the Black Bear lumber by.

The Lodge is fully heated and air-conditioned with 8 individual guestrooms, each with private baths and thermostats. The rooms names are inspired by interesting themes and décor: Asia, The Himalayas, Cherokees, and Nature. Breakfast is included with your stay, and lunch and dinner are available upon request. Wireless internet and satellite TV. The Lodge has a spacious kitchen and dining room, small coffee bar, and expansive decks with frequent views of whitetail deer, wild turkeys and other small game. The Lodge is a prefect getaway for writers, artists, naturalists or anyone who wants to experience nature’s beauty and mystique.
CHESTNUT FARMHOUSE - Originally built in 1929, this beautifully renovated 2,700 square foot house has a red tin roof and a lovely wrap around porch which opens to a green lawn, a favorite munching area for the local whitetail deer. It lies a quarter mile from The Lodge and has 5 guestrooms and 3 full baths which can accommodate up to 12 people. The house also features a full kitchen, large dining area, and laundry amenities, as well as a living room equipped with TV, videotapes, and a medley of books.
CHEROKEE HOUSE - With saltbox style architecture, this beautifully remodelled home boasts a riverstone pathway leading to a broad front porch with its restful rocking chairs, a welcoming incentive for talking with old and new friends. The cozy interior includes 4 bedrooms for 8 guests with 2 full baths, laundry facilities, and a full modern kitchen lined with pine cabinets, new appliances and extensive counter space.
SEQUOIA COTTAGE - The Cottage combines a unique and aesthetic expression of a talented furniture designer combining a perfect blend of old and new architecture. Diagonal white-pine ceilings, skylights, ancient timbers, private decks and spectacular views are what guests describe as "seductive simplicity". The fully heated and air conditioned Cottage, accommodating comfortably 6-8 guests, has 3 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 intimate dining area, 1 full modern kitchen lined with pine cabinets and new appliances, laundry facilities, 3 full baths and 1 half bath.
WATAUGA BUILDING - This functional 1,200 square foot conference facility with Audio/Video equipment, bathrooms, 3 private showers, and a kitchenette has a 600 square foot open deck in the rear with picturesque mountain vistas. It comfortably seats 75 to 100 people and is fully heated and air-conditioned. It lies across from the Cherokee House and close to the Sequoia Cottage, all three comprising the Overmountain Center.
