Stonefly Lodge is situated on 150 acres of private forest on the banks of the Motueka River, in the north west region of the South Island, only 50 minutes drive from Nelson. Centrally located between three of New Zealand's major National Parks, (Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi National Park) the Lodge offers access to world class brown trout rivers, spectacular New Zealand scenery and wilderness activities, all within an hours drive from the Lodge. Stonefly Lodge offers the complete package for any fly fishing enthusiast, providing expert guiding and instruction for the novice or experienced fly fisherman. For the non fishing person the region offers a wide variety of spectacular tours from hiking, wine tasting, kayaking, and exploring one of New Zealand's recognised boutique arts and craft regions. The property is 2.5km from the main sealed road with access via a riverside track to a secluded valley setting offering complete privacy for our guests. Stonefly Lodge is in an ideal location for a corporate retreat or weekend getaway.

Property amenities:
The total complex is powered by alternative energy sources built on site to reduce the projects environmental footprint. The Lodge interior focuses on the large stone double sided fireplace which provides the ambiance to the games room, dining room and sunroom. A large open kitchen adjoining the dining area offers the relaxed atmosphere where guest dine together, or private dining opportunities can also be catered for. Breakfasts can be served on the guest room private balcony. The cuisine will be made fresh from the extensive garden with home made produce, local quality meats and fresh seasonal seafood. Special diets are easily catered for.

Complete with library, a snooker table, and the "Matai Bar", guests will have the ideal setting to relax after an exciting days fly fishing or after exploring the numerous sites and attractions of the local region. Four guest rooms are located upstairs complete with ensuites, heated towel rails, and private balconies overlooking the Motueka River and surrounding mountains.

The upper landing area above the dining room provides a quiet secluded place to utilise our fly tying area and guest computer or just indulge in a game of chess or relax with a good book.

The Lodge has been designed for entertainment and will be an ideal “sole use” facility for private functions or exclusive events.

Nearby attractions and activities:
Apart from being located in a world renowned region for stalking and sightcasting to large wild brown trout, the lodge site has been specifically chosen for its easy access to 3 of New Zealands most scenic National Parks. The Lodge is situated equidistant to the Nelson Lakes National Park, Abel Tasman National Park and the Kahurangi National Park, all within one hours driving time from the Lodge. There are over 20 wineries within an hours drive producing some of New Zealands award winning wines and the region is renowned for having the largest collection of local art and craft galleries in New Zealand with oportunities to view the artist at work.

Nelson has many daily flights to and from each of the major international airports of Chrischurch, Wellington and Auckland.

Policy:
A 25% deposit is required to confirm the booking. Full payment is required 30 days prior to arrival

Cancellation Policy:
- Within 60 days of arrival
- Within 30 days of arrival
- Within 15 days of arrival
- 25 % cancellation fee
- 50 % cancellation fee
- 100 % cancellation fee

We strongly recommend obtaining travel insurance to cover any cancellation fees.

Packages:
We offer a 3 night package including all meals at the Lodge (breakfast lunch and dinner) and two days guided fishing for NZ$1800 per person based on twin share. Additional nihts are NZ$350 per person.
The boutique lodge can cater for max 8 persons however we can offer exclusive use of the Lodge and all facilities for NZ$2100 per day.
