The houses were used as homes, churches, monasteries and caravanseraies by the people between 2000BC and 1750BC by the Hittites, 585BC – 332BC by the Persian and the Empire of Cappadocia, 17AD – 395AD by the Roman Empire, 397 – 1071 by the Byzantine Empire, 1071 – 1299 by the Seljuk Empire, and after 1299 the Otoman Empire. The houses were restorated by Ramos Tourism and with the European Consey Ministry of the Tourism permission and under the protection and control of Culture and Tourism Ministry and The World Heritage Convention (UNESCO)
