Take a weekend excursion to the Faroe Islands from any of our neighbouring countries. You can take a direct flight from Iceland, Scotland, England, Denmark and Norway and spend the weekend in clean air and peaceful surroundings.
We have put in some great excursions and even some time on your own hand, to explore the beauty of our islands.
Make shure you bring your camera, since there is a photo opportunity around every corner, so to speak.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Thursday, Arrival:
You arrive on your flight from one of our neighbouring countries. Transfer from the airport to your private B&B in Tórshavn is included.
At 6:00 PM we take you on a 2 hour bustour to viewpoint Sornfelli (749 m) to enjoy the fabulous view from a mountain top. On a good day, you can see spectacular colors from the setting sun, painting the mountains and distant houses. You will be back in Tórshavn at 8:00 PM
Day 2:
Friday, Explore on your own:
This day you are totaly free to do what you want. We give you free entrance tickets for the National Museum, Museum of Arts, Open air museum and the Nordic House where you can have a cup of tea/coffee (included).
You can also purchase our friday excursion "In the King's footsteps" which will take you through Tórshavn to the island of Nólsoy, where we visit ornithologist Jens Kjeld Jensen and Brunnhús, the oldest house in Nólsoy.
Another option is to hike ower the mountain from Tórshavn to cultural center Kirkjubø, with the farm Roykstovan, a 900 years old wooden house, still in use by the farmer, aswell as the Múrur ruin, St. Olavs church from around year 1100. For this hike, we supply you with area map and lunchbox. You can take the public bus back to Tórshavn.

Day 3:
Saturday, excursion of your choice:
Here you can freely choose any one of our 4 scheduled excursions.
1) Northern Eysturoy by bus, takes us to the old whaling station "við Áir" and further on to Oyndarfjørður with the rocking stones, to Elduvík for lunch, further on to Funning, one of the oldest villages in the Faroes. From here we drive to pittoreske Gjógv, with a natural harbour you will never forget. From Gjógv we continue around Mt. Slættaratindur (882 m) to the viewpoints around Eiði, where we among other things see the famous rocks "Risin og Kellingin"
2) Mt. Slættaratindur guided hike to the top (882 m) of the highest mountain in the Faroes. Needless to say that the view is fantastic from the top. On a clear day, you can see all the mountain tops on the islands, from Enniberg in the north to Beinisvørð in the south.
3) Panorama and Birdcliffs. This is a combined bus and sailing trip, which takes us to the viewpoints between Tórshavn and Vestmanna. From here we board the excursion boats, that take us under the towering birdcliffs, rising from the sea like straight walls of up to above 500 meters high. We sail so close to the cliffs, that in some places, you can even touch them, aswell as we sail into caves under the cliffs.
4) Panorama and environment. This excursion takes you to the viewpoints between Tórshavn and Vestmanna, and takes you for a tour of Vestmanna. Some of the places we visit are, SEV water turbine power plant, buildings of the old Monopoly, "Green School consept" at Vestmanna public school.
You are free to choose any one of these 4 excursions.

Day 4:
Sunday, Visit Sandoy:
This full day excursion takes you to the excotic island of Sandoy, with its special scenery, ranging from sand dunes to cliff walls. Somewhere enroute we stop to see a puffin colony, split in two as the road goes straight through it. A special experience to see nesting puffins on both sides of a public road. We also take a short walk in Skálavík, to visit yet another puffin colony at the foot of a Skálhøvda birdcliffs. Weather permitting, we will have our packed lunch while enjoying the "birdshow" around us.

Day 5:
Monday, Departure:
Here you have some time on your own, depending on which flight you take out of the islands, before taking the public bus to the airport. Transfer is included.
