Visit Queenstown, Christchurch, and Auckland. Kayak Queen Charlotte Sound, explore the glacier lake and fiord cut valleys of Lake Te Anau. Shoot the rapids of the Upper Motu Gorge to the Otipi Bend and Lower Gorge.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Depart the USA
Day 2:
Arrive Auckland presumably on early morning arriving flight. Meet and transfer in coach to hotel. Rest of day free. Overnight on B&B basis at The Airdale Hotel. Welcome Evening ‘Dining Afloat’ on a Pride of Auckland yacht with harbor sailing and dinner on board.

Day 3:
Breakfast at hotel. Depart in the coach at 9.00am for journey of 420 kilometers (max 6 hours) to small township of Motu to meet your rafting guides for two night Motu River rafting. From the township transfer into 4WD vehicles and head into Paparangi Station for overnight stay in remote basic lodge accommodation on the farm. Apart from the set off point for the rafting there are also excellent bush walks which can be enjoyed early evening or tomorrow morning before hitting the river.

Day 4:
Breakfast at Paparangi Station. Make final preparations for today’s rafting down the Upper Motu Gorge to the Otipi Bend. Bush camping (sleeping bags required)

Day 5:
Breakfast at camp. An early start to raft the Lower Gorge of Grade 3-4 whitewater rapids down to White Rapid. From White Rapid continue the journey by jet boat down the lower reaches of the river to the coast. Rejoin the coach here and relax in the coach for 200 kilometer (3 hour) journey to Rotorua. Overnight on B&B basis at Lake Plaza Rotorua Hotel.

Day 6:
Breakfast at hotel. It is a 460 kilometer (6 hour) journey to Wellington. The coach will depart from the hotel at 12.00pm (mid-day) allowing time for optional activities this morning. Overnight on B&B basis at the Ibis Wellington.

Day 7:
Breakfast at hotel. 8.45am transfer in the coach to the Interisland ferry terminal 9.30am depart Wellington on ferry for crossing of Cook Strait 12.30pm arrive Picton. From Picton cross the main channel to Anakiwa by launch. On arrival at Anakiwa meet your sea kayaking guides and begin final preparations for overnight sea kayaking trip on Queen Charlotte Sound. This afternoon paddle down the Sound surrounded by bush clad hills past many small islands nestled in the deep blue waters. We will set up camp after about two hours paddling. Bush camping (sleeping bags required)

Day 8:
Breakfast at camp site. Today we will continue paddling, exploring many hidden coves and inlets as we make our way to Picton, arriving at around 3.30pm. On our arrival at Picton your stored luggage will be packed into waiting coach for trip 350 kilometer (4.5 hour) journey through to Christchurch. Overnight on B&B basis at The Chateau on the Park.

Day 9:
Breakfast at hotel. Departing at 8.00am for the 478 kilometer (6.5 hour) journey to Queenstown will have us arrive around 3.00pm. On our way into Queenstown we will stop at the Kawarau Bungy Bridge and then at the Shotover River for optional bungy and jet boat rides. Three nights on B&B basis at Rydges Queenstown Hotel.

Breakfast at hotel. Free day.

Day 11:
reakfast at hotel. Depart at 7: 00 AM for 166 kilometer (2 hour) journey to Lake Te Anau. Spend the day kayaking on Lake Te Anau which is the South Island largest lake and second largest lake in New Zealand. The lake has 440 kilometers of uninhabited shoreline and numerous islands. The glacier lake has many ridges and fiord cut valleys and is a fun Fiordland activity. Return to Queenstown arriving back around 7.00pm.

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer in the coach to Queenstown Airport for flight to international departure flight.
