Indigenous Siberians have a mystical feeling for Lake Baikal. They believe that this is not merely 23 thousand cubic km of water in an enormous stone bowl that contains over 20 % of the world fresh water, but a wizard and healer who should be neither jested with nor enraged. This is why they never call Baikal a lake, only - The Sea, or The Old Man.

Scientists claim that lake Baikal, the oldest lake of our planet, which water basin was formed over 20 mln years ago, once was a part of an ocean. They also argue that the shores of this lake gradually move apart, thus, making the lake 2 cm wider every year. And we can figure that lake Baikal someday will become an ocean again!

So, we invite you to undertake a sailing trip across the waters of the youngest ocean of the world! Cruising Lake Baikal accompanied with gentle rustling of Baikal waves and being moved by the wind will make your trip free of urban stress while relaxing on beaches of fine sand and bathing in the warm waters of picturesque and pristine bays that can be accessed only by water.

Apart from a cruising portion, the below suggested itinerary offers a great inland program on the sacral center of Lake Baikal – Island of Olkhon, during which you will meet with a famous Shaman, spend overnight in yurts (Buryat felt gers) and enjoy Siberian sauna.
