Learn to surf in an exciting all inclusive package. Lost Coast Adventures offers you the opportunity to learn the essentials of surfing from a qualified and experienced staff of surfers. Whether it's our five night camp or day camp, you will learn what it takes to become a proficient surfer. From technique, water knowledge, ocean safety and equipment, you'll gain the skills one needs to learn to surf and to surf good.
Your housing, food, equipment, and instruction is all provided. You need just show up for an adventure of a lifetime in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.

Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Check in. You'll be fitted with custom surf gear. We'll find the perfect fitting wetsuit and surfboard, that's matched to your weight and height. After you have moved into an ocean side cabin and familiarized yourself with the area, your group will meet on the beach for an introduction to surfing. We'll cover the equipment you will be using, water safety issues, basic surfing principles and techniques. Once we have gone thru a session of questions and answers, we will all suit up and hit the water for some hands on surfing experience.
Group meets every evening for dinner with a beautiful sunset. Retire to a beach party and fire or maybe watch some great surf videos.

Day 2:
Wake up early for a look at the local marine conditions. We observe all weather systems and forecasts via internet. We'll eat breakfast and have time to walk it off and perhaps hike around the beautiful beach a bit before getting in the water.
Group will meet on beach with suits on and board in hand. As a group we'll cover the "pop up" technique and stretch out. There will be basic discussion on surfing principles and your group will hit the water with instructors to work on certain functions.
There's is two scheduled surfing sessions a day. each lasting as long as three hours. Students will have as much time with instructor as needed, to accomplish group and personal goals.
Student's are free to free surf after scheduled sessions as long as buddy system is adhered and there is a qualified camp instructor monitoring beach.
Lunch and dinner are provided. Not uncommon to retire to the beach for games - beach fire or whatever in the evenings.

Day 3:
Up early again. Depending on the local marine conditions and swell direction, the group will have an opportunity to explore nearby coastal wilderness beaches for surfing via Lost Coast Adventures surfari van.
The day will be spent working on developing style, correct paddling technique, stance, duck diving and wave positioning. A full day of surf instruction, great meals and beautiful scenery to be expected.
Every evening there will be the option to watch surfing films. This gives students a great opportunity to view the correct surfing forms and encourages conversation on surfing, travel and life. After all, surfing is a lifestyle!

Day 4:
Up again early. Observe local marine conditions, eat breakfast and decide where to embark on our adventure for surfing.
By this time you will be advancing far beyond your own expectations from the beginning of the camp session. You will be constantly critiqued by our surf instructors, and worked with individually in the water to correct any problems you may be adjusting to.
You will have the option to try different equipment as camp continues and will always have the chance to try your luck at more advanced surfing conditions. The great thing about our beaches, is there's a great variety in wave conditions. On any given swell, no matter what the size or direction, there will be slow mushy waves, or bigger and faster waves. So as your confidence grows, so can your appetitie for the more advanced waves.
Today is the day, on average, the student catches his best wave. The real experience of surfing inches closer as the days go on. Students find themselves totally saturated in the culture of becoming a surfer. Big stacks of surfing magazines help drive your desire for more waves!

Day 5:
Your last full day as a student surfer. We will cover all the material you learned over the week, and there will be much. As a group, we will take a road trip, depending on the local conditions, to Neah Bay, where you can test your new skills on a variety of world class waves.
Dinner will include a presentation from the local Native dance team and we'll eat a traditional native prepared meal.
You'll have the option to go for an evening free surf session with the staff and show off some new moves.
Equipment will also be available the following morning for surfers who still have the slightest bit of energy left to surf.
You are now prepared to go to all ends of the earth in search for waves. You will have learned the skills and etiquette needed to safely paddle out at most surf breaks anywhere in the world. You will have the confidence to trek ahead, and explore far reaches of the globe in search of the perfect wave!
