KANCHANABURI ADVENTURES & ECOTOURS 3 DAYS

ITINERARY COTE: DAT-RS102:

Kanchanaburi - Featuring Ecotourism:

Kanchanaburi is a province along the Myanmar border in the West some 130 kilometers from Bangkok. The attractions of Kanchanaburi are the historic railway bridge built by the Japanese during WW II, scenic Kwae Yai and Kwae Noir Rivers, cave shrines, Buddhist monasteries, hill tribe villages, and resort hotels located in quiet locations in the nature. The Jungle Raft Floatel and the River Kwai Resotel are perfect examples of superb resort destinations in the wilderness of Kanchanaburi which offer visitors the best ecotourism adventures and cultural experience in the region.

Ecotourism Program Highlights:

The Jungle Rafts Floatel (the floating hotel) on the Kwai Noi River and the River Kwai Resotel built on the bank of the same river are located in the nature in quiet locations some sixty kilometers off the beaten track from the town of Kanchanaburi. These resorts are perfect places to escape from the crowded areas and busy life styles in the cities to relax in the ambience of nature where privacy, serenity and comfortable accommodations are guaranteed. We offer ecotour programs that involve elephant riding, canoeing, bamboo rafting, hill tribe village trekking, mountain biking, river excursions, cave shrine excursions, Mon Hill tribe cultural show, and meditation to release tension and get rejuvenated.

More About the Resorts:

The Jungle Raft Floatel provides accommodations in thatch-roofed breezy Thai style cottages. All rooms at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts are non-air conditioned. However, the thatched roof, continuous flow of cool breeze and being on the water, the rooms generally stay cool. The Jungle Rafts offer the ultimate experience of being in the nature and pleasure of sleeping on the gurgling sound of water.

The River Kwai Resotel, nestled on the Bank of Kwai Noi River, surrounded by

scenic forest covered mountains, and faced with the high cliff, offers a perfect vacation of privacy and serenity with comfortable air-conditioned accommodations, delicious Thai and continental cuisine. Its high ceiling dinning hall decorated with hand made local artifacts including the prehistoric cowboy type tools makes you feel as if you are in a museum. The Resotel also has a swimming pool to relax and swim after the outdoor activities. Those of you looking for more luxury type resort accommodation, should book accommodations at the River Kwai Resotel.

We run daily tours from Bangkok and overnight trips of 2 to 3 days in Kanchanburi or 9 days tour combining with Hua Hin and Cha Am Beaches. Inquire for more details.

Your Itinerary

Day 1:
DAY 01 Bangkok to Kanchanaburi transfer and tour

6.30 - 07.00 AM Pick-up from Bangkok major hotels and depart for

Kanchanaburi.

10.00 AM upon arrival in Kanchanaburi, visit The War Museum, “JEATH War Museum” which is the replica of prisoners-of-war camp during the World War II. The museum houses fragments of war weapons, paintings, drawings and pictures of life in the camp during the war that have been donated by former prisoners of war and their families. Visiting this museum is an educational trip for anyone. After seeing the displays of war atrocities and reading the news of the war at that time, we should imagine at higher level the suffering of humanity from wars, and think about how to stop it from happening again.

Then, drive or cruise in a long tail boat to see the railway bridge over the River Kwae which was constructed by the Japanese in 1942 to transport their troops and supplies between Burma and Thailand.

The Bridge Over The River Kwae which was constructed in 1942 by Japanese using the prisoners of war and their army to transport supplies and troops between Burma and Thailand. The bridge is more of a historical symbol than educational in any sense. The Japanese and British train engines displayed nearby is interesting to see.

Also, visit Don Rak Cemetery of some 6,982 Allied soldiers.

This covers are very large compound with well taken care and decorated with

beautiful plans and trees.
