Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Canadian Rockies and history of the Great Northwest. This 14-day adventure will take you to the unmatched beauty of Banff National Park, glistening Lake Louise, Bow Falls, Colombia Icefields, Waterton Lakes, and the Badlands. Experience some of the the historic places that helped knit the fabric of our country, like Mt.Rushmore; the new Crazy Horse Monument; the fields of Little Big Horn, where the 7th Calvry fell during Custer's Last Stand; and Deadwood, made famous by Wild Bill Hickcock and Calamity Jane. You'll also visit Calgary,Albert, Saskatchewan and many more!

Your Itinerary

Day 1:
Your vacation begins as you board your airplane at your nearest major airport. Then, in just a few hours you'll be in Sioux Falls, SD, the gateway to the Rockies. Your YMT Representative will meet you at baggage claim, gather your bags and escort you to your hotel.

Day 2:
Today you'll motorcoach through the rolling hills and stop for lunch in Bonanzaville. This is an authentic frontier town of the Old West and offers a little bit of everything, including a three-story statue of an American Bison. It is said, it took three days for the herds of buffalo to pass by. From Fargo you will travel to Bismarck, the capital of North Dakota and your over night stay. Bismarck is considered one of the loveliest capitals in America. Take time to see the Capital building and the governor's mansion just a few blocks from your hotel.

Day 3:
Regina, Saskatchewan

Today you will travel from the United States into our neighboring country, Canada. Miles per hour become kilometers, and a meter is just over one yard. Canadian Provinces are the equivalent to our states. This afternoon , you will visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Academy for a very informative presentation of the tales of the "Red Coates".

Day 4:
- Calgary

This morning, you will be on your way to Calgary. You will make a stop at Swift Current for one of your first great views of Midwestern Canada. You will overnight in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Day 5:
Calgary City Tour

This morning, is your city tour of Calgary. The city tour will be a great overview of this major Canadian city that includes the famous Scotts Hill, Ft. Calgary and the Winter Olympics. You will again overnight in Calgary.

Day 6:
Canmore, Alberta

Your day today will be filled with spectacular Lake Louise and breathtaking Banff. Unusual sights abound: The Hoodoos, Bow Falls, Buffalo Paddocks, and Cascade Gardens, all remind you you're in wonderland! Overnight: Canmore, Alberta, Canada.

Day 7:
Colombia Ice Field

Today you'll begin by traveling the magnificent Icefields Parkway in the shadow of the Great Divide. Following the headwaters of three major river systems among the rugged mountains, this route will take you through scenes and experiences you'll never forget. It is one of the world's greatest mountain highroads, named for the chain of huge icefields that roofs the Rockies.

Then you'll enjoy a guided tour onto the icy slopes of the Athabasca Glacier. You'll travel in a specially designed Brewster "snowcoach" to the middle of the glacier, a 5 kilometer round trip journey. Your driver/guide will explain how glaciers are formed and point out the interesting geological features as you travel in safety and comfort. At the turn-around, below the glacier headwall, you will have the option of stepping out onto the ice formed from snow falling as long as 400 years ago. Then it's back along the Icefields Parkway to Canmore for your overnight.

Day 8:
Lethbridge, Alberta

Today , you will travel through Kananaskis Country. Kananaskis is rich with mountain scenery, wildlife, and clear lakes, which make this area very attractive. Also featured today, will be Waterton Lakes National Park, which is an extension of Glacier National Park in the US. Overnight: Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.

Day 9:
Helena, Montana

Today, you will cross the border into Montana's Big Sky country and rugged history. Overnight in Helena, Montana.

Day 10:
Billings, MT

A city tour of Helena, the capital of Montana, is first on your agenda. You will see points of interest such as the Cathederal of St. Helena. Also, featured will be a tour of the State Capital Building. Then, you're off to Billings, the largest city in Montana. Overnight: Billings, Montana.

Day 11:
Rapid City, SD

This outstanding day begins with a tour of the "Little Big Horn." You'll see the national monuments, and learn all the history from the ranger lead program. Then, a stop in Deadwood is on your itinerary. Deadwood is most famous for its colorful folk - Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane. Overnight in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Day 12:
Rapid City, SD

Today, you are in for a spectacular visit to Mt. Rushmore National Memorial, as well as the recently opened Crazy Horse National Memorial. Both, are the most outstanding and most famous attractions of the Black Hills. Overnight: Rapid City, South Dakota.

Day 13:
Sioux Falls

Today, you will travel through the spectacular Badlands National Park on your way to Sioux Falls. Here you'll see spectacular canyons carved by erosion in multicolored hills of clay and sandstone. Later you'll cross the Missouri River on your final leg into Sioux Falls. Overnight in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Day 14:
Today, you'll be transported to the airport where you will catch your flight home. Even though your adventure is coming to an end, you will take with you new friends, memories, stories to share and new plans for your next YMT adventure.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.

There is a 60 day advance payment requirement for tours, after this time frame the tours are upon request and subject to availability.

$999 Per Person Double Occupancy plus $149 tax and service.

Single room supplement: add $400.

Price includes hotels, motorcoach transportation, sightseeing, baggage handling, guides and transfers. Supplemental charges for season and departure city may apply.

BAGGAGE HANDLING: Free baggage handling allowance is 44 pounds per person, to be contained in one suitcase. There is a one time charge of $15.00 for each additional bag handled by YMT. A flight bag may be carried for free.

Gratuity to driver/escort is not included, but left to the discretion of the individual tour member.
