A moderate level three day trek visiting a variety of hill tribes in Northern Thailand. This trek also includes accommodation at a three star hotel for the nights before and after the trip. This is an ideal trip if you want a complete accommodation and trekking package while visiting Chiang Mai.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Chiang Mai. Transfer from the Airport to your hotel. In the evening attend a traditional Khantoke dinner - traditional Northern Thai food and Thai dancing. Includes: (D).
Day 2: Start of our three day trek. Drive north of Chiang Mai for approx. 2hrs, stopping for lunch along the way. In the afternoon drive up to the Lisu village, where we start trekking. Walk mostly uphill for approx. 3hrs. to an Akha village, stopping at a waterfall along the way. Overnight at the Akha village. Learn about the fascinating Akha tribe and stay in their village, which has tremendous views over the surrounding area. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3: Walk for approx. 2˝hrs. and stop for lunch at a Lahu village. In the afternoon, take a ride on the elephants for approx. 2hrs, arriving at a Palong village. Overnight at the Palong village. See the Palong tribe who only recently came to settle in Thailand from Burma. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 4: Walk for approx. 2.5hrs. to the Ping River and stop for lunch. Then board the bamboo rafts and cruise down the river for approx. 1˝-2hrs. Then drive back to Chiang Mai (approx. 2hrs). Includes: (B), (L).
Day 5: Depart from Chiang Mai, for your next destination. We transfer you from your hotel to Chiang Mai Airport. Includes: (B).
