The most interesting feature of the Guadix area is that almost half of the inhabitants of this large town live underground, in the southern part of the town. The jagged ochre terrain and the dazzling whitewashed chimneys and doors of the caves contrast dramatically with the snow-covered peaks of the Sierra Nevada, which loom above. The cave district is signposted on the main street of the town as the "Barrio Troglodyte". Then visit the Moorish castle & old quarter of the village.

Granada - Guadix – Granada
Meet your Private English-Speaking Chauffeur in the lobby of your hotel. Departure from Granada. Drive to Guadix to visit the interesting houses constructed within Caves called Troglodyte homes. Then visit the Moorish Castle & old quarter of the village. We have reserved a table for your lunch either before or after the tour at a recommended restaurant. Free time on your own and to explore the village. Return to Granada.
