Your Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive into Delhi, Capital city of India. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon proceed for a half day city tour of Old Delhi. Explore the living legacy of the Mughals. Visit the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and the Shanti Vana the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi & Jawahar Lal Nehru respectively. Evening witness "Son et Lumaire" show at the Red Fort (subject to performance) Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Morning depart Delhi by Shatabdi Express to Agra. Departing at 06.15 hrs. Breakfast on board. Later on arrival at 08.10 hrs, proceed for a full day city tour of Agra directly from the railway station, visiting the world famous "Taj Mahal", built by Emperor Shah Jehan in the year 16.30 for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Also visit the Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar containing Palaces, the halls of Public and Private Audience. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch visit Sikandra-mausoeleum of Akbar the Great, followed by a visit to Itmadualla - mausoleum of Queen Noor Jahan parents. Later in the evening transfer to the railway station tom board Shatabdi Express to Delhi departing at. 20.00 hrs. Dinner on board. On arrival at 2210 hrs, meeting, assistance and transfer to hotel for overnight. Included: (B), (D).
Day 3: Morning after breakfast, transfer to domestic airport to connect flight to Srinagar, at 11.15 hrs. On arrival at the Capital city of Kashmir, at 12.35 hrs, you will be transferred to Deluxe Houseboat. Afternoon free for personal activities. Evening Shikara (boat) ride on Dal Lake to enjoy the sunset on the Lake. Lunch, Dinner & Overnight at Houseboat. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 4: Morning after breakfast, half day tour of Old Srinagar city visiting Khanyar Rozabal to see the Jesus Christ tomb walk through the old streets of the city. Continue drive to world famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) built by Asaf Jah in 1636 and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir for his beloved Nur Jahan in 1619 AD. After lunch, Shikara ride on the Dal Lake to enjoy the beauty that God has graced this city with which is often compared to Venice. You will get a view of some very interesting places around the Lake. Lunch, Dinner & Overnight at Houseboat. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 5: Leave after breakfast for day excursion for Bandipur to see Moses graveyard as believed by the locals, which is about 60 km. drive from Srinagar. This trip to possible subject to the condition of the Bandipur region because there is lot of military operations in that region presently. Return to Srinagar. Lunch, Dinner & Overnight at Houseboat. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 6: Leave after breakfast and one hour's drive will take you to Zaiwan where it is believed that Jesus Christ has spent lot of time near the spring which still exists. Continue drive to Pahalgam en-route visiting Avantipur ruins which is eleven hundred years old. From here it will take another 2 hours drive to Pahalgam. Short trek to Mamleshwar temple made of rocks and enjoy the nature beauty of the mountains. In the evening drive back to Srinagar. Lunch, Dinner & Overnight at Houseboat. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Leave after breakfast and two hours drive will take you to Gulmarg 2732 m. Short trek around the mountains and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. In the evening return back to Srinagar and on the way back meet the author who wrote the book "Christ in Kashmir" Lunch, Dinner & Overnight in Houseboat. (Meeting will be Specially arranged for U, subject to his being in Srinagar at that time – We will confirm this at a latter stage) Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: Leave after breakfast and drive to Kargil. The road passes through the panoramic village of Sonmarg(2740 m.) After Sonmarg most of the road is rough and wet. Cross Zojila pass 3527 m. (Gateway of Ladakh) and continue drive towards Drass (The second coldest inhibited place in the world) stop here for tea and passport check. Another two and half hours drive will take us to Kargil (2710 m.) which has got its importance after opening of Ladakh for tourists in 1974. Packed lunch en-route. On arrival check into hotel for dinner & overnight. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: Leave after early breakfast. 4 hours drive will take you to Lamayuru. This day will be tiresome but panoramic too. First Buddhist village will be Mulbek. We have to cross the highest pass (Fotula 13749 ft.) on Srinagar Leh route. At lunch time (packed lunch) you will be at Lamayuru oldest Monastery. Enjoy the Lamayuru festival for couple of hours which is celebrated on. (In case you are there) Leave in the evening and 2 hours drive will take you to Uletokpo Camping grounds. Dinner & Overnight in deluxe camp. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 10: Leave after breakfast and after short drive you will reach Alchi monastery. Visit the monastery and later on continue drive to Likir monastery visit the monastery and its small village. Continue drive to next village Nimu a view of Zanskar River following into Indus. Finally you will reach Leh 3500m. at the lunch time. Check into hotel on arrival. After lunch free for personal activities. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 11: Morning after breakfast, proceed with packed lunch for a full day excursion to Thiksey monastery which is good to visit early in the morning to see Sunrise and Praying ceremony and also visit The Hemis monastery which is one of the biggest and most popular monastery of the region. On your return journey visit Shey Palace. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 12: Morning after breakfast, half day tour of Stok Palace/ Museum and on the way back visit Tibetan Refugee Camp at Choglamsar. After lunch visit King's Palace and Tsemo Gompa which commands one of the magnificent view of the Leh town. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 13: Morning after breakfast, full day drive to Sarchu via Upshi and you have to cross the second highest motorable pass in world (Taglangla Pass AT 5350 m.). Enjoy the beauty of the mountains, continue drive through more planes where there are chance of seeing tiny herds of Marmots, Yaks & Herbs. At Pang we stop for lunch. Continue drive to Lachungla pass 5065 m. rugged in the middle of the mountains. Arrive Sarchu. Tonight our camp will be at 4200 m. and it will be the coldest night during the whole tour. Dinner & Overnight in Deluxe Tents. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 14: Morning after breakfast, depart for Keylong. Sarchu is the borderline between Jammu n Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. After a 20 km. drive we enter into Himachal Pradesh and cross Baralachala pass at 4883 Mts. Here on the top there is a lake known as Surajtal and you will visit the first village at Darcha after Rumtze. One may visit the Dalai Lama monastery which has been recently opened during the Kalachakra Festival. From here 25 km. drive will take you to Keylong the head district of this area. Halt for half an hour here to visit the local Bazaar and later continue drive to Khoskar, where you stop for passport check. Later Cross Rohtang pass at 3978 m. before driving 95 km. into Manali. On arrival Check into at hotel. Overnight in hotel. Included: (B)
Day 15: Morning after breakfast day free to take a walk around this beautiful Himalayan town. Trek to Old Manali Village, see Hadimba Temple, visit the local mall. Overnight. Included: (B).
Day 16: Morning after breakfast, full day excursion to Manikaran, where the hot springs are reputed to have chronic ailments remedies. On return walk up to Naggar Village, home of Nicolai Roerich, now an art museum. Visit this small intricate mountain village, before returning to hotel for Overnight. Included: (B).
Day 17: Morning after breakfast, time free till transfer to Bhunter airport (15 km) to connect flight at 1025 hrs for Delhi. On arrival at 1130 hrs. meeting, assistance & transfer to hotel. Afternoon free with car with driver at disposal for last minute shopping etc. Overnight in hotel. Included: (B).
Day 18: Morning after breakfast, half day city tour of New Delhi. Please note this day your room is till 12 noon. We will try & have it extended till 1400 hrs, so that you can return from your sightseeing freshen up & then check out. Afternoon free. (However we will provide you with a car & a driver, so that you can revisit any particular place, you fancied on your sightseeing tour or finish your last minute shopping. Later on time, transfer to International airport to connect flight for onward journey. Included: (B).
