This tour is based in a four-star, centrally-located hotel in Verona. It is a wonderfully balanced tour, with time spent visiting the most important artistic sites, participating in fun and informative cooking lessons, and learning about-and tasting-the wine of the region.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Verona. After resting, we meet for aperativi in the hotel's lovely bar, where we will go over the itinerary for the week. This will be followed by dinner at a wonderful restaurant.

Day 2: Guided walking tour of Verona, with particular focus on the ancient Roman sites. Lunch will be al fresco at a wonderful trattoria. Then you're on your own for the afternoon to shop, visit the sights, or take a nice, long nap. Dinner and wine tasting will be at a delightful enoteca. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3: We will have our first cooking this morning followed by a light lunch. After lunch we will leave for a half-day excursion to Mantova in our private motorcoach. Guided tours of the principal church designed by Alberti and the famous frescoes by Mantegna in the Palazzo Te. Dinner will be together in Mantova. Included: (B), (L), (D).
Day 4: Excursion to Vicenza where we will have a guided tour of the town with a focus on the architecture of Palladio, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner will be on your own in Verona. Included: (B), (L).
Day 5: Relaxing excursion to Lake Garda, where you will get an overview of its fascinating and complex history. It is also one of the few places in Italy where it is possible to be in three different regions at one time. Lunch will be at a wonderful restaurant on the lake. Dinner will be on your own back in Verona. Included: (B), (L).
Day 6: Excursion to the lovely town of Parma where we will visit its Romanesque cathedral and baptistery, followed by a visit to a unique food market. Lunch will be at a restaurant famous for the local specialties of Parmigiano cheese and prosciutto. After lunch we will have a balsamic vinegar tasting on a farm in Modena, which is the birthplace of the aceto balsamico. We will return to Verona in the early evening where you will be on your own for dinner. Included: (B), (L).
Day 7: After our cooking lesson in the morning, you will have the entire day to yourselves. This will be your chance to shop till you drop, visit other sites, perhaps take the train into Venice (only an hour away), or simply hang out and relax. Our farewell dinner will be at another wonderful, local restaurant. Included: (B), (L).
Day 8: Departure Day. Included: (B).
