Come shop, cook and feast on fine wines and foods in one of the prettiest and most gourmand areas of France. From our base on the Charentes/Dordogne border, very close to the Périgord area (those wonderful truffles and foie gras!)the vineyards of Saint Emillion and Bordeaux and the distilleries of the Cognac region are easily accessible and there are many pretty medieval villages to visit in this beautiful area of rivers and truly stunning scenery.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival after 4pm and time to explore the large rustic house and its 7 acres of grounds with orchard, its "parc" (a more formal garden)and the enclosed Swimming Pool garden with separate kids pool and wonderful views over the River Dronne. At 7 om, Carmelita will serve you with an Apéritif, followed by a Welcome Dinner. (D)

Day 2: First cooking class at 10am, learning the techniques of French country cooking and making a light lunch as well as our dinner. Focus on Les Tartes, both sweet and savoury. Afternoon break for resting, reading, walking. (B) / (L) / (D)

Day 3: Two separate classes today - in the morning class at 10 am, we'll learn some essential French sauces and make ouselves a substantial salad (or maybe a Soufflé?) for lunch. In the afternoon, starting at 4pm, we'll make a three course traditional French meal for our dinner. (B) / (L) / (D)

Day 4: Market Day in both Ribérac and Chalais, so off we go in your rental cars! We'll have lunch out and at 4 pm we have Cooking Class 4, which will include a look at making meat Patés and Vegetable Mousses. (B) / (D)

Day 5: A free day for you to head off to the vineyards of Bordeaux or the distelleries of Cognac. Or to take in the charms of Angouleme, Perigeux or Sarlat, or to go walking...the choice is yours! Carmelita will be waiting for you with a fine French supper at 7.30 pm. (B) / (D)

Day 6: As we'll be making a five course meal tonight, we start Cooking Class 5 at 10 am, and prepare ahead as much as possible, then a light lunch. We meet again at 5 pm to complete the preparations for your Farewell French Feast at 8pm, with time to shower and change in between! (B) / (L) / (D)

Day 7: Time to fill out the feedback forms, take final photos and say goodbye. Farewells and departure by 9.30 am. (B)
