The daily cycling distances have been designed to leave time to spend on cultural, gastronomical and leisure activities. This tour has a reduced number of participants to ensure a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
Our trips include: all meals in well-chosen traditional restaurants and charming hotels. Assistance van in charge of logistics carrying: spare bicycles, first aids kit, soft drinks, excellent local wine and pick you up in case you decide to carry your journey by vehicle rather than by bicycle... Bicycle rental, bicycle equipment and all entrance tickets and visits. At least, two guides will always lead you through everyday journey.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Palencia - Aguilar de Campoo
Palencia will be our meeting point in the afternoon. Transfer to Aguilar del Campoo, a small town in the north of Castilla at the foot of the Cantabrian range, close to Burgos, a meeting point of different cultures. We choose our bicycle.

Day 2: Aguilar de Campoo - Aguilar de Campoo
Today we cycle around Lake Aguilar enjoying the magnificent views of the forest around the lake. We also see the hermitages of Santa Cecilia and Santa Maria la Real. On returning to Aguilar, we visit the collegiate church.

Day 3: Aguilar de Campoo - Carrión de los Condes
Today we start cycling along the Canal de Castilla, a great work of civil engineering from the 19th century. Transfer to Alar del Rey where we start cycling down towards Herrera de Pisuerga and Osorno. In the afternoon, we visit the church in Támara before going to our hotel.

Day 4: Carrión de los Condes - Fromista
We become pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago for a day. We visit the church in Villarcázar de Sirga; afterwards we move on to Carrión de los Condes with its churches and the monastery of San Zoilo. Our day´s cycling ends in Sahagún, a town of mudéjar architecture.

Day 5: Fromista - Palencia
The morning is spent visiting the Romanesque churches of San Martín and San Pedro in Fromista. In the afternoon, we carry on cycling along the Canal all the way to Palencia.

Day 6: Palencia - Valladolid
We continue our ride along the Canal, visiting the monastery of Santa María de Palazuelos, and a wine cellar at Cigales, a well-known wine area, before arriving in Valladolid - a great town that was once the capital of the Spanish Empire.

Day 7: Palencia - Medina
Today we leave the Canal to head west. We start cycling at Calahorra de Rivas, and on our way, we visit churches, hermitages, and other places of interest such as the church of Santa Maria, or museum of Santa Eulalia before arriving at our hotel at Palencia.

Day 8: Medina - Valencia de Don Juan
We continue cycling west, stopping at Palazuelo de Vedija to see the church, as well as those of Roales and Barcial. We also see the castles in Villamuriel and that of Valencia de Don Juan where we stay on our way to León.

Day 9: Valencia de Don Juan - León
We start the day by cycling to San Miguel where we visit the Mozarabic monastery before taking a transfer to León, the heartland of Castilla. We will see the cathedral, one of the Spanish Gothic masterpieces, collegiate church of San Isidoro, Gaudi´s Casa Botines, and the Húmedo quarter where we sample local tapas.

Day 10: León
We have breakfast together before leaving León. End of the tour.
