Your Itinerary
Day 1: Florence
Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, was the cradle of exceptional artistic and intellectual activity from the 13th to 16th centuries. It greatly influenced scientific, philosophical, and artistic pursuits throughout Europe and the world. Explore this famous city on a walking tour and relax this evening at one of the city's most prestigious hotels. (D).
Days 2-4: Castellina-Siena
Bicycle in the vineyard-clad hills of Chianti Classico. Savor a picnic beside an olive grove. Stop for a wine tasting and tour. The route is filled with temptations before it leads to the golden hued, sentimental city of Siena, a mystical and passionate art center with narrow Gothic streets, palaces and patrician mansions. Biking through the graceful Tuscan landscape will enchant you and you have the option for a spectacular hot air balloon ride. Day 2 includes dinner. (B).
Day 5: Siena-San Gimignano
This is one of the most beautiful albeit hilliest days on our trip. Enjoy the Tuscan countryside with vineyards and olive orchards as we cycle from Siena to San Gimignano. The spectacular walled towns each have a wonderful story, and offer a glimpse into Italy's medieval past. Those who prefer a change of pace can join our local guide for a day of hiking. (B/D).
Day 6: San Gimignano-Artimino
Our destination today is Artimino, home to the famous Medici Villa of the Hundred Chimneys. Passing through orchards and vineyards, visit traditional towns like Certaldo and Montespertoli before crossing the Arno River into Artimino. (B/D).
Day 7: Florence. Say arrivederci to la dolce vita, as we shuttle to Florence for our trip's conclusion and departure. (B).
