After two days and one night on the trail we'll enjoy a two night stay at a remote, cozy wilderness lodge. You can go dogsledding, try ice fishing, watch the Aurora or just put your feet up in front of the woodstove. Soon the dogs will be howling to hit the trail again and we'll make our way back to where we started with one more warm night on the trail tucked into cozy Arctic rated sleeping bags and savouring the comfort of the heated tent. We supply sleeping bags, all camping equipment, warm outwear and food. Guests will be provided with a clothing list. We can recommend places to stay in Fairbanks for the time before and after your dogsledding adventure.

Your Itinerary

Day 1: Catch the shuttle which will transport you and your gear from your hotel to the trailhead. There will be plenty of time to meet your experienced guides and your team of dogs and participate in an informative orientation session before hitting the trail. We'll travel approximately 25 miles before stopping to make camp for the night.

Our trips are hands-on experiences and your guides will teach you how to gather firewood, take care of your team, find water and set up a warm and comfortable camp. After a hearty Northern dinner your guides are happy to talk dogs with you and to share their Alaskan stories. If the night sky is clear be prepared to see some beathtaking displays of the Aurora Borealis. (L/D).

Day 2: After a delicious breakfast we'll harness and hitch up the dogs and hit the trail. Today we'll travel approximately 35 miles to a cozy remote lodge where we'll spend the next two nights. Along the way your guides will point out the tracks of the animals that have shared the trail.

We'll stop around mid-day to have lunch and give the dogs a well-deserved snack and break. Our lodge hosts will have a homemade dinner waiting for us after we've made the dogs comfortable for the night. Listen to their stories of a wilderness lifestyle, put your feet up in front of the woodstove or take a walk under the Aurora Borealis (weather permitting). (B/L/D).

Day 3: The day is yours to enjoy. Go for a short dogsled ride, try your luck at ice fishing, test out the snowshoes or simply sit in front of the fire. The choices are varied and designed with you in mind. There will be plenty of food and homemade treats to enjoy. (B/L/D).

Day 4: After a day's rest your dog team will be anxious to get back on the trail. After breakfast we'll bid farewell to our lodge hosts and begin to make our way back to where we started. There is new territory to explore and we'll cover about 25 miles today. Tonight's camp will be just as warm and comfortable as the first one. Maybe tonight, if the skies are clear, you might want to be really adventurous and sleep under the stars, watching the Aurora dance overhead. (B/L/D).

Day 5: This is our last day on the trail but don't worry, we're not anxious for this journey to end. We'll get the dogs ready again after breakfast and enjoy a day travelling across the pristine wilderness. When we arrive at the trailhead the trip isn't quite over for we'll enjoy a final dinner together, telling tales of our adventures on the trail. After supper the shuttle will pick you up and deliver you safely back to your Fairbanks accommodations. (B/L/D).
