The Yukon Explorer / Yukons Snake River: Accessible only by float plane, this stunning trip begins aboard a DeHavilland Beaver or Otter air plane that takes you into a lush alpine valley, moves through the awe-inspiring Mackenzie Mountain range and drops you off in the tranquil Duo Lakes.From there begins a 500 kilometre, three week long epic journey down the Snake River.
On the way, you’ll pass through or portage around several rapids, have the opportunity to see bears, wolves, moose, dall sheep and caribou, and hike off into the surrounding landscape. There will also be plenty of fishing, a chance to visit the historic Fort McPherson settlement, and an excursion to Dawson City before returning to Whitehorse.
