This tour includes our most popular safari - 5.5 days/5 nights in remote areas of the Sinai desert, with the chance to climb Mt Sinai on your first night.
Ride your camel or walk alongside (and let the camels carry your bag!). Either way you will take in beautiful desert landscapes, sand dunes, mountains, canyons & oases at a relaxed easy pace. You will find the Sinai desert very peaceful and relaxing.
Full itinerary
Day 1: Dahab-Wadi Arada-Mt Sinai
* Leave Dahab after lunch and travel to Wadi Arada.
* Spend the afternoon having a bit of fun on the sand dune and exploring the Double Canyon.
* Dinner with Fraej's family and relax.
* About midnight, set off for St Katherine to climb Mt Sinai and watch the sunrise.
Day 2: St Katherine-Double Canyon-El Gona Plateau
* Descend from Mt Sinai in the morning light, then take some time to visit St Katherine monastery.
* About 10am, return to Wadi Arada to meet our camels and start the deep desert trek!
* Journey through Wadi Arada, past ancient Nabateaan inscriptions, ascending to the El Gona Plateau
* Enjoy lunch at the top of El Gona - 1700m high, stretching for 50km from Ein Khudra, separating the southeast and middle west areas of Sinai
* Continue through Farsh El Gona
* Watch the stunning Sinai Sunset, camp for our first night in the million star hotel!
Day 3: El Gona Plateau-Wadi Zalagha-Zaranig Canyons
* After Breakfast enjoy a morning trek through Wadi Zalagha
* Relax at El Malagha for lunch, before traveling to the Zaranig Canyons.
Day 4: Zaranig Canyons
* We spend all of today exploring the largest and deepest of the Zaranig canyons, stopping for lunch and tea, and enjoying the spectacular landscape. When it rains, the water floods from here down to Nuweiba.
* Camp for the night at the start of the 2nd canyon.
Day 5: Zaranig Canyons-Abu Turefia
* Explore 2nd of the Zaranig Canyons
* Journey to Nabq Abu Turefia, where you can marvel at the view whilst relaxing with a cup of tea. Trek down to the wadi for dinner and camp for the night.
Day 6: Abu Turefia-Wadi Tbeiq-Zigzag Canyon-Wadi Arada-Dahab
* Walk through Wadi Tbeiq resting for tea under the shade of the Acacia tree
* Travel through El Zigzag Canyon
* One more sip of the Bedouin tea with Fraej's family in Wadi Arada
* Back to Dahab
You can book safari only, or book a package including transfers from/to Sharm El Sheikh and 1 night's accommodation in Dahab either side of the safari.
