The Mount Kenya park covers an area of roughly 492 sq. km above the 3,470m contour line, with two salients stretching down the western slopes.
The highest point of Mount Kenya is to be found at 5,199m and is called the Batian summit.

Itineray:
Day 1: Leave Nairobi in the Morning via Chogoria Market to Meru Mt. Kenya Bandas for overnight in a Camp/ Lodge. 3hrs
Day 2: Ascent through Moorland to Mintos Hut for overnight. 7-8hrs 4,200
Day 3: Attempt Point Lenana and descend to Shipton's Camp for dinner and overnight. 5-7hrs (4,985m)
Day 4: Descend from Shipton's Camp to Old Moses Camp via Mackinder's Valley. 4-5hrs
Day 5: Descend to the Sirimon Park Gate through rain forest and connect with the transfer vehicle back to Nairobi. 2hrs.
