This adventure takes place in the Sinai Desert of Egypt with 4 days on camelback, climbing Mt. Sinai and 3 days of guided tours in and around Cairo/Giza.
Sample Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo.
Day 2: Transfer via private van/bus across Sinai Desert to Red Sea port town of Nuweiba. Overnight at Habiba Resort, situated on the beach overlooking Gulf of Aqaba.
Day 3: Camel trek (meet many Bedouin friends, sleeping in beyt sha'ar- goat hair tents- or thatched huts)
Day 4: Camel trek (visit oasis of Ein Hudra, believed to be the Biblical oasis of Hazeroth)
Day 5: Camel trek (visit Maktoub, the Inscription Rock, and 3,500 year old Nabataean tombs of Nawamis)
Day 6: Climb Mt. Sinai and tour inside of 1,600 year old Christian Monastery of St. Katherine at base of Mt. Sinai.
Day 7: Visit camel market of Birqash (suburb of Cairo) and take guided tour of Pyramids in Giza. Climb inside either the Great Pyramid of Khufu or the middle Pyramid of Khafre.
Day 8: Guided tour of Egyptian Museum (which houses King Tut's treasures) and day of shopping at historic Khan el Khalili market. Also visit Al Azhar mosque.
