TRIP SCHEDULE: You will meet our guides at our warehouse in Merlin at 8:30 a.m. We will have a brief orientation for inflatable kayakers and paddle rafters at the river, prior to putting on the water at Robertson Bridge. You will cover 14 miles of class I and II+ whitewater rapids during the course of the day. Featuring riffles, which are more mellow in the morning and more adventurous in the afternoon, this is an excellent introductory trip for first time kayakers. You will paddle through moderate stretches of whitewater, calm pools, experienced an abundance of wild life, and float through Hellgate Canyon (featured in the movie River Wild).
An all-you-can eat BBQ lunch will be served mid-day for lunch at Indian Mary Park. (Other lunches may replace our BBQ on smaller trips.) After lunch, you will continue down river. The rapids pick up considerably in the second half of the day. After your trip with us on the water, vans will be there to transport you back to your car in Merlin.
Cameras are encourage, as there are some great photo opportunities along this stretch, and our guides will be happy to work with you getting good vacation pictures of your family rafting the Rogue. For those not wishing to paddle your own inflatable kayak, or join a group in a paddle raft, oared rafts are available upon request. Each large raft will hold four to six adults.
