TRIP ITINERARY: Guests and guides will meet at the office/warehouse in Merlin at 6:45 a.m. or in Happy Camp at approximately 9:30 a.m. unless other arrangements are made. Travel time to the put-in is approximately 2 hours from Grants Pass. Have a substantial breakfast; it will be a long time until lunch.

Your first day on the Klamath begins at Indian Creek which joins the Klamath River just south of Happy Camp. The day will begin with some warm-up rapids but later on you will face challenging Class III rapids like Devil's Toenail, Trench, and Kanaka. Lunch will be set up mid day along the rivers edge. Late afternoon, we will have vans waiting at the take-out, and you will be transported to Marble Mountain Lodge after a stop at Dillon Creek for a dip in one of the best swimming holes you will ever experience.

On day two, you will challenge such rapids as Ferry Point, Independence, Sasquatch Squeeze, and Dragon's Tooth (Class IV). After lunch you will have the option to take a short little side hike up Ukonom Creek to experience seeing two cascading waterfalls at a place that has been appropriately nicknamed "Little Hawaii". That afternoon, we will return to the same lodge as the previous night. Gear may be left there while you are on the river.

We continue on down the Klamath Canyon on day three, tackling the Canyon of the Ikes, which is the most challenging whitewater on the trip. Big Ike, Ike Falls, and Super Ike will all challenge the paddling skills that you have developed over the previous two days and leave you exhausted but exhilarated. We will reach our take-out around 3:30 p.m. and begin the journey back to Happy Camp or Merlin.
