All the cliches, well known from the holiday brochures do apply: pearly white beaches fringed by coconut palm trees, tropical islands covered in primary forest, clear waters which are outstanding for snorkeling, kayaking and diving and a benign climate enabling year round relaxed sailing. In Thailand one still finds numerous unspoiled idyllic anchorages to choose from. Here there are no daily battles for a place in an overcrowded bay, at most places your yacht will be the only one in sight. There are an abundance of restaurants serving mouthwatering local and international dishes on many of the islands.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1 - 07.00 - 08.00 You are collected by air-conditioned minibus from the airport or your hotel for the transfer to your yacht which is stationed in Kwantoung Burma. The drive from Phuket takes 4-5 hours with a lunch stop in between at the romantic Kuraburi Green View Resort, which is included in the price. You are then checked out by Thai immigration in Ranong and transfer by longtail boat to Kawthoung, Burma. Once welcoming on board, you can get settled in your cabins, while we finish the rest of the Burmese immigration procedures. We leave for Barwell Island our first anchorage at around 20.00 for a quiet, relaxing evening.
Day 2 - Morning dives and another one in the afternoon. In between you can go on the beach at Great Swinton Island . Anyone interested in a night dive can do so here too.
Day 3 - Morning departure for Colona Rock, one of the best dive sites to see sharks. Stay for 2-3 dives and set sail in the afternoon for Selat Galet, a passage between two islands. This is a perfect anchorage and will offer you nature pure, as you will see sea eagles, wild pigs and crab eating monkeys.
Day 4 - Early departure for North Twin Island , which boasts huge gorgonias and schools of fish. We stay here for 2 dives and then continue to South Twin Island for an afternoon dive and another night dive.
Day 5 - Here is an interesting place for photographers: South Twin Island offers you fantastic rock formations, swim throughs and nurse sharks, which can be up to three meter long! We then enjoy an afternoon sail to McCarthy Island for a BBQ dinner on the beach.
Day 6 - An early dive at Steward Island famous for it's caves and strong currents. Last dive at High Rock and then back to Kawthoung arriving around 18.00. Dinner can be had aboard or ashore if you wish.
Day 7 - Departure at 07.00 from the yacht. A longtail boat will bring you back to Ranong. Checking in with immigration in Thailand takes at the most ½ hour. Our minibus will then drive you back to the airport or you hotel in Phuket.
